I got it to work by disabling "run homeseer as service" , any clues why it does not work when homeseer runs as service?

No idea, I noticed the same when I changed it to run as service. Reverting back to normal application, it works again.

Since you anyway are not able to run EG as a service, you might accept also to run HS as a normal application.

Homeseer is not exactly high-quality coding. It has a lot of features but it is very buggy, and very messy. I stopped using it a while ago and simplified my HA setup - much happier now. I don't have EG "integrated" into my HA but I'm looking forward to exploring it with the next version of mControl and a few free apps I've been testing.

Modified krambriw's mod even further to add doEvent and fix the remote connections to HomeSeer that got broken.

Should be able to do almost anything you want when you can trigger Homeseer events.

I am having a problem with your version of the plugin. It won't initialize, and I get this error:

Someone else posted the same error earlier in this thread, then posted that they fixed it by installing an updated version of the plugin, but I am not sure where they found it since yours seems like the latest that is available (at least in this thread).

The original version of the plugin works correctly. Any thoughts, ideas, tips, etc would be appreciated!

What "original" are you referring to?

I hope you are not running HS as a service because then it will not work.

PS Just made a quick test, the version provided by Ersan in the above post works fine for me

When I say "original", I mean the original version of this homeseer plugin, before the modifications that were posted on this thread.

I have a feeling that my problem is a 32bit / 64bit thing. EventGhost (latest non-beta version) is installed on a 32Bit PC, as is the Homeseer Voice software, but the Homeseer itself runs on a different PC, and that one is 64bit....although the more I think about that, however the Speaker client communicates with the Homeseer server I wouldn't think would be problematic since I assume it is just IP or http (so why would 64Bit on the homeseer side make a difference)?

Again, everything EventGhost wise is on a 32Bit Win7 PC. Only Homeseer itself is on a different PC that is 64bit.

Do homeseer and eventghost have to be on the same PC for this to work? (they don't for the original version of this plugin, since that one works for me).

I have no idea, sorry. For some people it works, I guess they have everything in one PC with 32 bit Windows but I'm not sure.

If you are the original author it would be interesting if you presented you as such. U just appear from nowhere and have some ideas about not spreading around stuff. Instead, this is exactly what you just did, added another place. What would make us believe that this site will survive in the long run? (nothing is really preventing you from keeping a decent order in here).

Anyway, what you have uploaded is not covering the changes that has been made since a couple of years. Besides, as it is right now, it is not qualified to be a plugin for EventGhost, it is not developed following the guidelines.

If you feel committed, please merge the improvements in he other published versions into one and publish this (if you are the original author).
