Just tried it! Has so much promise and its causing one of my cores to be at 100%!

I no programmer, but it does seem like a step in the right direction. I could use it to be a remote control other than that, the LEAP was so disappointing.

I think there was a 'classical' inside, I do not have a Leap, could you try this version?

Thanks to User1306 and krambriw for the Leap Motion Controller plugin.
I have added it to the Remote Controls topic.

User1306 and Flyingsubs:
Some devices require a lot of unavoidable computation to work: e.g. the Leap Motion, Playstation Move, Xbox Kinect.
Other examples might be computer vision (like using Python with OpenCV) and, to a lesser extent, even voice recognition.
Thus, any plugin for those types of devices will eat up your CPU cycles to a certain extent.

The only way out of that, is to run them on a different machine on the LAN, and send the events to your dedicated HTPC via Network Event Sender/Receiver.
