yup we underwent a small upgrade in the last handful of days.

I wanted to show everyone where our user base is from. it's pretty impressive actually.

dark blue = the most visitors
light blue = has had visitors
white = no visitors

Low and behold no one was able to register these past couple of days. This has now been fixed. New users were not getting any registration e-mails. I am very sorry for this. I didn't realize that the e-mail broke.

There was some other glitches that were fixed only forum moderators will know it is. but I figured I would mention it so you all know I am working hard at fixing outstanding website issues.

The anti spam bot measures have changed to Captcha, hopefully with the change the bots will stay away. And no more need to update anything for it. We will see how it goes. if we run into an issue then I will try something a bit different. I would like to have something that we don't have to remember to change and will continue to work.

Oh yeah I forgot to also mention the Notification settings are fixed as well TY @dequi for reporting the issue.

Hey there! Minor note about the wiki: the new host doesn't seem to have ImageMagick installed, or else MediaWiki can't find it. There's an error now when working with images that were uploaded after the move (example): "Error creating thumbnail: /bin/bash: /usr/bin/convert: No such file or directory Error code: 127"

also since we have a heap of storage and control i changed the settings for the private messages so you can have 1000 messages now instead of 100

another update.


I have moved the email from godaddy to our own mail server. I have put into place a reverse dns for the mail server I also added some extra security to the email system
dmarc - helps to prevent phishing and other hijacking our e-mail
dkim - RSA 2048 bit encryption
spf - have not a clue but was needed to make dmarc work.

unfortunately we sill have not heard anything about .com, .org, .de I am hoping we will get lucky at some point. But in the event we do not I have added a permanent redirect so all the search engines will update to eventghost.net

OK update. I have been messing around on the test site and I have redesigned the navigation menus. and fixed some background issues. I have to correct the table for the download buttons and finish up the about us section.


I would like to see some more people send me a bio about themselves and a photo(optional).

Is everything EG website and hosting related off GoDaddy now?
