hi all,

just wanted to share my experience with everyone, just in case anyone is having the same problem with KMPlayer specifically.

I did in fact search through preferences, and did not find anything that explicitly disabled HID response. I had set my mind on trying to disable the HID device until it dawned on me that perhaps there is something in the registry.

So after searching through KMPlayer's registry, I came across a term that resembled something along the lines of MultiMediaKeyBoard.

By setting this term to false, I've effectively disabled KMPlayer's response to any special HID function, and hence resolved my problem.

Personally, I don't really like this solution, so I'm still looking into others. theGood from AHKHID recommended disabling the emulated virtual keyboard, and EG's own bartman has suggested trying the 0.4 EG release (i think this is experimental or something, since i cannot find it in the official release as of yet).

There is an option to disable multimedia keyboard in KMPlayer under "Options-Preferences-General-Support multimedia keyboard".

EG 0.4 is experimental you can find it here http://www.eventghost.org/downloads/

thank you for pointing that out, i have no idea why i didnt notice it...i think i was so sure the option would be in keyboard/mouse control that i completely glossed over the general section.

thanks for pointing that out, i dont feel quite as bad about this workaround now, since it is an actual option.

I am using EventGhost XBMC XBox Remote and KMPlayer as external player.
Only a few keys of my remote are working.
How to map UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT keys to navigate thru DVD Menu?
I don't find the command in the DVD section of __init__.py

Hello stecaro,

if you need a function that is not in the plugin you can only
use the emulate keystrokes function in EventGhost.

For UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT keys it can be like this example:
