Which plugin are you using? The problem with the directional Remote buttons was in my plugin that I posted April 12(page 8 ) I have posted a new fixed version in the new thread

I'm having 1 issue with eventghost getting the OSD to show up. i get this error in eventghost when trying to activate the OSD.
Error in Action: "XBMC.OSD()"
Traceback (most recent call last) (1076):
File "<string>", line 1, in <module>
NameError: name 'XBMC' is not defined
off topic: does anyone know how to get hulu desktop working with eventghost?
Re: Can't get DOWN to reliably repeat

For both UP and DOWN I have added: "Autorepeat current macro: 0.6". Keeping UP pressed repeats just fine while DOWN does not. The IR receiver indicates that it is receiving (something) all during the press. I have swapped the action performed between DOWN and UP and the behavior follows the key, not the function. I just can't figure out why they behave differently.
I believe there is a (low level) way to see the codes that is actually being received by the device. I would like to confirm that it is constantly seeing the DOWN key.
I am running XP service pack 3 with some weirdo MS equivalent remote. I had to do magic to the driver files before the installer recognized that it supported my remote (as suggested elsewhere).
Any hints?

This is a plugin that is based on the good work that Bitmonster and KingD did regarding Broadcast Receiver / Listener but has many enhancements specific to XBMC.
Feel free to use, modify and suggest mods as you see fit.
As far as installation... you know the drill! Enjoy!

vortexrotor,
If this is different code then the XBMCrepeat code, you may want to start your own thread. This thread is a mess anyway.

And your right about this thread... it is a mess.

I suggest you publish new code proposals in the coding corner first. After you received feedback from users and the code becomes "mature", maybe like in this case, a moderator could move it to the plugin section
Best regards, Walter

This may seem like a silly question, but are there any plans to add a dvd menu button? probably the most basic of remote functions, yes?

or is it in already and I have an old plugin?
