RFXtrx
Re: RFXtrx
Aha, sorry. I meant to change it so it reacted after 30 minutes. My bad math...
Re: RFXtrx
Is it possible to control Intertechno ( http://www.intertechno.at ) or RSL ( http://www.conrad.at/ce/de/category/SHO ... system-RSL ) devices with RFXtrx?
Re: RFXtrx
You'll see the full list here, under "Will support": http://www.rfxcom.com/store/Transceivers/12103 Seems like it supports Intertechno fully, but RSL is not mentioned, which probably means no on that.
Re: RFXtrx
I know the list from rfxcom.com but it seems that hardware support also depends on the used plugin (see first page in this thread, changelog)
Re: RFXtrx
Yeah, but you did not ask about the plug-in. You asked if it was possible to control it with the RFXtrx. So your question was actually "Is it possible to control Intertechno ( http://www.intertechno.at ) or RSL ( http://www.conrad.at/ce/de/category/SHO ... system-RSL ) devices with EventGhost and the RFXtrx plug-in?"

Re: RFXtrx
Thanks for this plugin!
I want to use it with some lightwaverf lightswitches. When i create a siemens/lightwave action it has a section for IDs where it says "Select the proper ID selections" and has 4 drop down selectors. Should i just be able to make these selections up and then teach to my lightswitches? If not, how do i know what the proper ID selections are?
Thanks

Re: RFXtrx
Unfortunately I do not have the hw myself so I do not really know too much about them. I assume you got some manual delivered with them? You could try as you suggest, set the id's just randomly or with a pattern you preferre, put the device into learn mode and transmit an "ON" command with the RFXtrx positioned not too far away (thats how other type of self learning devices work). For the rest, my implementation is just according to what is supported in the RFXtrx.

Re: RFXtrx
ok thanks.
Yes, i got instructions with them but they don't go into pairing with rfxtrx, just with the lightwave brand handheld remotes.
Just waiting for my rfxtrx to arrive and i will test it out and let post back. Hopefully it will arrive today or tomorrow.

Re: RFXtrx
Hey there.
My rfxtrx arrived and i can confirm that your plugin works perfectly with my lightwave switches. The IDs can just be selected, i picked 01 01 01 and unit 1 (inventive eh?!) and i was able to teach the switch using the 'on' command as described in the instructions for the switch.
Set level and off are basically all i need (set level will turn it on if its off) and they all work great.
Let me know if you need any lightwave testing done, i only have dimmer switches at the moment though.

Re: RFXtrx
Hi,
I dont know if this is the right place to ask about this, so I'm sorry if it is as I have only just got a rfxtrx433 and set it up with your fantastically simple to use plugin. Thank you for this it's great for my needs
I say simple because it took me all of a minute to get event ghost working with my homeeasy lights and dimmer lights. My question is, is it possible to set the dim level of the lights to gradually dim or brighten from the setting they are on to the level I have specified.
I would love to be able to do it gradually as it seems nicer to gradually dim to the required setting. I have managed to do this only by turning the lights on level 15 then sending the 'ON' command again, which sends it in to a dim cycle then I tell eventghost to wait a couple of seconds then send the ON command again to stop the cycle at required dim level, then do the procedure again to get it bright again. obviously less than ideal, as if the lights are already dimmed, I have to blast the lights to full to dim down to the appropriate level through my procedure.
Sorry alot of talking, is this possible, to have gradual dimming/brightening to required level?
Thank you
tom

Re: RFXtrx
Thanks for your kind words,
You can only set a specific dim level if you have self learning devices (the ones your are learning with a remote) and not all brands work either. The types 'AC', 'Siemens Lightwave' and the old 'IKEA Koppla' have the feature that you can set a specific dim level. But they will dim directly and not gradually.
The only functions I have implemented that currently use gradual dimming are the 'GoodMorning_AC' and 'GoodNight_AC' actions.
Your idea is however not bad but it would be hard to implement since there is no way to check what level a device is operating at (unless we have captured the last command to the device). I might consider to think and investigate the possibilities for future releases (but, obviously, only for the device types that supports it).
The old types like 'ARC' where you set a house and device code manually can only be managed the way you describe.
Best regards, Walter
