Dear Walter,
thanks for your suppport. It isn't still working, even without characters like "/" etc.
I uninstalled EG completly and started a new and clean installation(0.4.1.r1582). I added the plugin SunTracker (the version 1.2.4, which comes with the EG file) and created an macro for it. While setting up all the macros und the plugin for the FS20-Unit I received a few error messages. Then I closed EG and started it new. A few seconds after starting it, I get the errors shown in the picture.
I did a update of the SunTracker Plugin, but without success. There are still errors. Do you think there's a chance to get it running?
Regards
Rainer

You should use the latest version of the SunTracker found in the first post in this thread (the one included in EG is outdated).
The error problem you see now can be fixed with this:
download/file.php?id=2409

Dear Walter,
after copying the pywapi.py the errors are gone! Thanks a lot! Now I'm waiting for the "first" sunset...

After a period of time (a couple of weeks) I have noticed considerable instability when retrieving weather data from Google Weather. The google-gadgets-api I use is part of iGoogle and has worked for a couple of years. Today the connection seems to be completly broken.
I have no idea if this will start working again but I have anyway decided to move away from using this source. Aslo iGoogle is announced to be terminated after 1 nov and it might be that this is the first sign.
Anyway, I have started to make a new version, using Yahoo! Weather, and it is running ok so far in my tests (I will publish it asap it is stable enough, hopefully tomorrow).
Best regards, Walter

Hi,
I was thinking something like this.
I use myself iGoogle for years and that's a shame.
Must also look around for an alternative and use netvibes for some time, maybe I can get used to it too.
I look forward to your new version.
Thank you!
Siutsch.

This is unfortunately due to the problem with retrieveing weather data described above. You can temporary avoid it by selecting 0 minutes for "Weather compensation factor" for each action...
I hate that I have to re-write code just because a service stopped functioning...but I guess no option other than to do it
Best regards, Walter

Yes, thats a pitty .... but to be honest Google Weather in switzerland is a joke. Far away from accurate.

Walter... just a thought... Both the MiCasaVerde Vera (home automation device) and XBMC have weather plugins that use Google Weather and they are working fine. You might be able to peep at the code to see how they are working.

Right, the new version uploaded in the first post is now using Yahoo! Weather api instead. It has been running fine here since last night.
If you upgrade from previous version, you shall follow the steps as described below. Please unzip the content to the folder or at least copy the __init__.py and pywapi.py files since they are needed together and they are changed.
Upgrade procedure:
1) When EG is running current version, disable the SunTracker plugin and all SunTracker actions so that they all stops
2) Unzip or copy the content of the new zip file
3) Now configure the SunTracker plugin, as example look at the picture below.
- enter your location id: A five digit US zip code or location ID. To find your location ID, browse or search for your city from the Yahoo! Weather home page(
http://weather.yahoo.com/) The weather ID is in the URL for the forecast page for that city. You can also get the location ID by entering your zip code on the home page. For example, if you search for Berlin in Germany on the Yahoo! Weather home page, the forecast page for that city is
http://weather.yahoo.com/germany/berlin/berlin-638242/. The location ID is 638242.
- select your units: type of units. 'metric' for metric or 'non-metric' (currently planned for future functions)
- select how often you want weather data updates (default is every 5 minutes)
When finished, click ok, then enable the plugin so that it starts.
4) Now for each action, configure each of them by opening them and clicking ok
5) Enable each of the actions
6) Open the settings for the plugin again and check that they are all running
7) You are done!
Best regards, Walter

There are some differences (like 'Fair') but I have tried to add them, the ones I know about are included. In the future I might keep the list outside in a separate file that gets imported when the plugin starts.
