Hello, Just playing around with the trial vs of the app. Like what I see so far. Before I buy I have a few question regarding sliders. Is it possible to add a slider widget to my home page of the Android device? Is it possible to set the slider to remember where it was last set to, IE every time I leave the page and come back it resets it position. Third, if I put a value of lets say 20 in for the slider, when the page loads is there a way to send that value to Eventghost automatically?
Thanks
Mike

Sorry for the double post, I figured out my main issues I asked about above, so no need to reply to those. I bought the pro and one thing I can't figure out is how to add custom icons. When I click on the icon list, and click add, it goes to a black screen and the rotating circle just keeps going and going. Am I doing some thing wrong?

The icon hang is known and will be updated shortly.

OK, thanks.
Do you have an ETA on the fix?
Thanks,
Mike
PS
Love the app.

I am not the developer, but I am testing a beta release that has that issue fixed. I would hope it will come out in the next few days.

OK, sorry, I did not get any notification about the latest posts but everything seems to have worked out, fine
Thanks especially to therealbiglou for answering the post!
The issue with adding icons is fixed in version 1.31b. Thanks for all the feedback and error reports!
A quick announcement: I made use of the new beta testing functionality in gplay, which means that you can join the Google group
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/terremote-beta
and THEN register as a beta tester under
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/pro.terremote.com
You will receive the latest beta versions and can give feedback right in the Google group. The current beta contains the new "touchpad widget" and the possibility to obtain information directly from XBMC, currently the running video or audio track.
At the moment it only works for the Pro version but the regular version will follow.
Thanks again for all the feedback!
Chris

Thanks Chris,
Because of you I can stop using iRule and go with your app instead. I can't believe you sell the app so cheep on the play store.

Are you planning on adding more capability of IP control to the app. I.E. Control things like DirecTV boxes via the network or be able to send commands to global cache devices?
Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,
I am always trying to add more compatibility to other devices. The problem usually is time and the missing hardware to test. There are so many things one could go with, though.
The only thing I can say for sure: There will be an action to send http commands, soon. This already lets you control many devices, although it is probably not always the best way. (e.g. Global cache seems to support this)
Adding the automated beta distribution is quite helpful in this direction since it helps maintaining an active community of people willing to test things with their devices at home. So let's hope for the best
About the price: terRemote is a hobby to me. I thought about making it completely free but just the fact that there are some people who paid for the app REALLY keeps your motivation up. I think the price is quite fair in that regard. ^^
Thanks for your enthusiasm!
Chris

Well count me in if you need help with IP control. I can defiantly help with DirecTV. I know its been up before but I would it if we can get the app to work with XBMC and make it as good or better then the Yaste app.

Hi! I'm new to terRemote and Tasker. I would like to use terRemote to control my LaCie Lacinema HD. It can be controlled with HTTP requests. I guess I need to call a Tasker task from TR to send the HTTP requests. I have therefore installed the demo version of Tasker, and I'm currently trying to launch a simple "hello world" task from TR, without success. The Tasker task works fine when I launch it from Tasker. It shows a message in the status bar. I have ticked the Tasker option "Allow External Access" in the misc tab of its preferences. In TR, I have created a simple button with the "Action on click" set to Tasker/Invoke Task/"Hello World". (TR shows correctly the Hello World task when I click the "select" button.) Currently, I don't use parameters or variables, to keep things as simple as possible.
The bad thing is that when I click the "test" button in the little window allowing you to define the action, nothing happens. Same thing when I leave edit mode and I click on the button. In the TR log, I can see the messages "Tasker(Invoke Task) - Hello World", but on the Tasker side, there is absolutely no indication that it has received something, and anyway, the Hello World message is never displayed.
I've read somewhere in this thread that it might be necessary to reboot, and I did it, without success. I tried to redo the same things in different order and with different names and parameters, and to enable the "Use background service" and "Listen to Tasker events" TR options (although I suppose that they are necessary only when communicating from Tasker to TR). My tablet is not rooted, if that matters.
Now, I'm totally lost. Someone can help? Is it a log or something to examine what's happening on the Tasker side?

This is good news, and might be the ideal solution to my problem with Tasker.

BTW, what means "soon"?
Anyway, keep up the good work!

I am also new, but I can tell you I have the same problem with the test button not working. It must be a bug. Did you install the terRemote Tasker plugin from the Google play store?

Hi, there is indeed an issue with the test button but I think it works with Tasker actions.
There is a log on the Taker side, when you press the menu button it's the very last option. You have to activate it before you can see anything, there. Would be interesting to know if something appears there.
Which Tasker version and Android version do you use? You're right in saying that you don't need to activate the background process or listen to Tasker events for this. You also don't need the plugin for Tasker.
The HTTP command action is one of the next projects (along with quite a few others ^^). It has moved up on my list by your request, now

I can't give you any exact time. Could be next week or in three months.

Thanks for your quick response, and your intention to work on the HTTP requests!

I'll have a look to the tasker log tomorrow and let you know. It's being late here.
I'm running Tasker 4.1u3 demo, on a Medion Lifetab E10310, under Android 4.1.1 with kernel 3.0.8+.
BTW, currently, I'm also running the free version of TR, v1.31b, but due to your excellent responsiveness, I will probably buy it soon. Perhaps when HTTP will be implemented.
@mpg732: Yes, I've dled the Tasker plugin from the Play Store, but since it is not necessary for what I want to do, it's not the problem.
