i am wicked happy i get this vera plugin working properly with my honeywell wifi thermostat. i had to modify some of the code for the vera plugin to control the thing. it's working flawless.
I am going to add the ability to pull all the current energy consumption for all the devices connected to the vera and have it calculate out what your electric bill would be.
i also want to add a really nice on screen menu system to control the vera. i have one currently but it's a seperate plugin. i think i am going to merge the 2 for other people to have access to.
since all the current data is stored in the plugin it would be easy to pull the data to make the menus, and then i would just have to pump out some actions so you would be able to map keyboard presses or remote control presses to go through the menu system.
I think that's what i am going to start working on now.
it would make it way cool to use
have the menu system show the current light level and be able to change it.

It seems to connect, but I can't quit EventGhost with it running, even with a blank tree, and just the plugin. EG just hangs.
The log file says nothing after it tries to stop the plugin.

kgschlosser wrote:and as far as volume indicator. i have my Harman Kardon set up that kinda like what i think you are looking for.
it shoots the data to EG and then displays a volume bar on my TV as well as all the different surround sound modes and speaker adjustments.
all 600+ different controls that my HK does i have report back to my TV, but could be very easly adapted to pump into a web page via EG and then that can be accessed from any device basically.
Sounds like an impressive setup you got there! That's what my system wants to be when it grows up!
5 of my 6 zones are audio only for music so yes, I am looking for some way to display the volume level mainly in Imperihome for now. I thought of doing some stuff in an HTML page for this but that is another learning curve for me that I don't really have time for right now.
With the Onkyo plugin I am using I currently have EG able to retrieve the values from my amps so ideally (at least in the short term) if I could get a way to get those variables into Vera somehow that would allow me to have an Imperihome widget that would display that variable (volume level) then I would be a happy camper.

Thats strange about the EG not glosing properly. I can't seem to reproduce that problem.
I did how ever run across a problem after it has been running for a few days about it not being able to create the data processing thread. i just restarted EG to see if the problem happens again. unfortunatly it is going to take a few days to show up again. I may need some help solving this tho. this is my first plugin using threads so any input would be helpful. I think i have an idea as to what it could be so i may try some things but it stinks it only show up after a few days. the 2 problems could be linked.

Let me know if there's any tests I can perform. I was running the MicasaVerde plugin before trying yours, so I'm not sure if that's an issue.

ok I have got it to reproduce the problem, now i just have to figgure out where it is. I am thinking it is in the same spot where the data read thread is not closing properly, and that's why after about 2 days I get the overrun. I am going to remove the creation of the data thread all together and just let the server portion handle it.
I am not sure how much this may impact event generation performance. but i guess we will find out.
I should have a running version by tomorrow. I have been busy digging myself out of a 2 foot snow fall. so i apologize for not being right on top of this.
I am almost 100% sure that will fix the problem and should only take me half an hour to change it about.

Question for you k.
Currently my Eventghost currently reports back my volume level (a number between 1-100).
Is there a way to utilize vera's Dimmer functionality and map my volume level to a dimner control in Vera?
I could then use that to display my feedback/volume level in a standard vera widget in ImperiHome.
What do you think?
Thanks,
Wino

I thought this was dead but I found it under the feature requests (
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3169). The author 'radengr' has not updated the plugin in a few year but it works great and Vera as a nice URL api. This is a one way plugin, EventGhost to Vera.
Thanks so much for resurrecting this plugin m19brandon!! This tool has made controlling all of my devices super easy in eventghost!!

ok. sorry for the delay. had some dental work done that went badly. and have to have some more done. and that put be 6 weeks in some bad voo doo..
but i found that ETOH helps me alittle. so i am going to tinker tonight. and maybe resolve the dumbass coding error. actually i am going to remove it. and see how we do. and then maybe get another burst and recode it to work properly, i am thinking the impact on performance should be very minimal, maybe 50ms or so, but I know it can be better so i will fix it completely, but not right now.
thanks again
give me 30 to an hour

ok, sorry, forgot, took me more like 30 seconds to remove the data thread creation. i also changed the location of the server thread to be a self. and that has solved the closing problem, and i am not sure as far as the errors after 2 days have yet to test. but i am pretty confident because EG is closing properly now the other will be solved as well, and i am correct as far as the speed about 50 ms, and if everyone tells me that's fine i will leave it as is. I know i am still a newbie with coding and if this could be improved upon, please do so and post the mods and it will be added to the code.
thanks again K

Wino,
I am not a Luup programmer, but i think i might be able to handle it with some help, but you are going to have to help... i have crashed my Vera, actually bricked it. I have the CEO of MiCasaVerde's e-mail, and i get pretty much instant support since i blasted him for the royal screw up of UI7.
or I do like the tried and true way the best, learn it by trial and error.
LOL

OH BTW, as i get motivation, i will add other features like current energy consumption, and calculated energy cost per month based on usage. as well as other vera plugin data people send me to add support to, i do consider one of the better projects i have done and plan on support for it for some time.

ok next revision, adjustable update time, EG guzzling up about 5% on a 8 code is horrible, and i think that's because of the network traffic.

ok, added update speed to config, it you already have existing plugin adding it is ok without removal...
but will produce an error that will require a save and close and then a reopen of EG.
