This seems to be something general including gui handling and not an issue of the plugin.
The error occurs after nearly all the plugins if the actions are added to the configuration tree.

You can avoid the error if you press cancel where you are asked to select a folder where the actions are added.
You have to add the action manually however.

I will try this right now and report back...

using 1479 I removed Onkyo plug-in restarted and then added it back in, canceling the folder option.

No error... but it does not send anything to the Onkyo receiver either?

Do you get events from the plug in (volume oder input change)?

What model do you have? maybe it uses a different protocoll.

I added some events after installing the plugin.
Since I used 'cancel' during the plugin install at the folder section it does not add anything but the plugin at Autostart... should it?

I think it is setup correctly... it detects COM3 when I install the plugin

I have an SR-TX805

I have the same receiver so probably not a different protocoll
The autostart entry is correct.
If you disable the checkbox in the bottom left there should be events in the log if you turn the volume knob.

The com port is not really detected. It is just the first available. Especially if you got a bluetooth receiver there may be quite a lot com ports available and with usb serial adapter the port may change if plugged in another port.

I am revising this plugin specifically for the Onkyo TX-SR875 to include all of the 875 commands (including the third audio zone).

Should be ready shortly.

I am using an IPhone via eventghost web server for control and it works damn well!

interested to try it out... I have an 805 so it should be very similar.

Interested to understand your web setup if it is custom?
- I want to trigger a few events but don't need/want everything exposed on the web site.

And... I will likely be triggering from from my iPod most of the time once the XBMC iPod remote support sending custom HTTP.

I figured out how to launch a webpage from the Iphone desktop in Safari without having the address bar on the top or the navigation bar on the bottom so it looks like a regular app on the desktop and when running.

Will do. Almost done with the 875 plugin revision.

I suffer from "Programmer Art". Anyone out there up for making some custom remote screens?

You can look at the RS232 chart from onkyo to see where the 875 commands and your models will be similar.
