I do not really see how the problems you are experiencing is related to the sample script I suggested...???

1)

CommandFusion Message could not be sent: s500=0

This does not look like it is extracted from the event payload holding a temp reading of +28.3. Please double-check the script.

2) 'import VistaVolEvents as vistaVolumeDll', you seem to have other problems starting up EG, some libraries or files for VistaVolEvents are missing

I do use Avast.
I turned it off, checked the folder but that file was in place.
Found out that a .dll was missing and replaced that.
Now the error look like this:

This looks like a bug in a script.
Look at the topic Error message after upgrade to r1669, especially its end.

Hi Krambriw!

This is what i get.
There seem's to be something wrong with the python script.
The Python script does not send any info to commandfusion serial command
As you see, the last row "CommandFusion Message sent: s500= (after = there is a L in Eventghost but does not stick around when i copy/paste)
and there should be the temp value.
If i manualy write something in serial value then it will send it to my iViewer app.

Hello, easiest now if you can make a screen shot of

- the macro configuration (expand the macro so what is inside is visible)

- the python script (I suspect formatting problems...)


Also, make 'Copy As Python' and paste in here as code the action that works when you typed in manually so that I can compare/check that we are running same versions,,,,

Your script shall look like this (I assume we are sending to the 'join' 500):

Then your macro shall look like this(only the event and the script):

To be sure that the temperature is correctly captured, you can remove the comment char like this and then it will be printed in the log every time it is captured:

I still have the startup error when Eventghost start.
Could that have anything to do with this problem?
Perhaps i should downgrade Eventghost to a older version!?

If you still have that startup problem, I am worried that python script support is not operational (you see in the error message File "C:\Program Files (x86)\EventGhost\EventGhost\plugins\EventGhost\PythonScript.py", line 71, in __init__ indicating a problem).

Before destroying your setup try the following:

1) Make a complete copy of your EventGhost folder including everything so that you can copy from there if you have manually added plugins and others

2) Make a copy of your config.py and delete the original

3) Install version 1669 again

4) Try to start EG, you will get the example configuration

5) If it works fine, check with file system and add manually the plugins eventually missing, restart EG

6) Now open your configuration you had before (it should be preserved during re-installation, otherwise copy the xml from your EventGhost copy)

Hopefully you are now running ok

I did your 6 point plan

-Clean fresh install of EG works without error messeges.

-Added all plugin i use, still no error message when i restart EG.

-Started EG with my config.xml, then error arrive

-Did a copy of my config.xml and started EG with that, and of course the same error occour.

-Then i started to remove macro, save, restart EG until error dissapear.

-When i removed your Python-script and restart EG it start without error message.

-Then i started EG with my original config.xml, removed only your python-script, restarted EG and no startup error.

Is it my installation that is broken or is it something with your script?

I cannot explain why it doesn't work, it should be just a simple copy & paste

But since the script is not that long you could try to type it in from scratch instead and see if that works better

I typed it in from scratch, but no improvement.
Started EG with clean, unconfigured xml, no error.
Then i put in your script and restarted EG, the same error.

Everything else works really nice.

One thing that i did not told you is that i do all EG work trough TeamViewer 9.
The computer that run EG is in a closet, but tomorrow i will hook up a screen to it and try it hands on.
I don't think TeamViewer has anything to do with this error but have to try without TeamViewer and see if there is any change.

I really agree, this is strange, I haven't experienced this behavior myself

1) Since you seem to run Win7 64bit, I assume you have already tried to run EG as admin?

2) Have you verified that just another simple python script really works?

Otherwise, if you do not find a solution, I would do the following to verify

- stop EG and rename the current folder 'EventGhost_r1669'
- install an earlier version like 1610
- add RFXtrx plugin, verify that a simple python script is working
- try the script from earlier

If you would like to go back to 1669, can rename EG folders
- 'EventGhost' -> 'EventGhost_r1610'
- 'EventGhost_r1669' -> 'EventGhost'
- install 1669
