I tried this link but the video appears to be down http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgLBXM7smLM&feature=plcp

How do you add buttons to the layouts!?? I'm in "Edit Mode" but see no option for "Add Button".

hi,

the tutorial is still available, try thsi link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgLBXM7smLM

in edit mode you can only move buttons, you have to add a macro and an event (button click) to add a button.
i know this is a bit hard to find out, but you cannot just add a button to the layout without knowing which macro it should be part of.

if you still need help let me know.

Hi, I purchased your app and am having trouble with it receiving events after the display goes to sleep. I have my wi-fi set to always enabled in settings, but after a couple of secs of sleep the Network Sender in eventghost reports "Network Sender failed" when trying to send the event to my tabled (Viewsonic gtablet, running ICS).

just to give a bit more information about this issue, this is an android "problem". the network connections are cut to optimize battery usage, i already thought about adding a setting to set the wake lock but this will increase battery usage too ... i let you know when i solved this ...

Hi everyone!

I'm proud to announce that EGRemote now also supports Push Notification! There is a small tool available at http://goo.gl/Kdc89. It is actually a 'gateway' to send push notifications. Just install it on your Eventghost server and read the text shown - it's very easy.

Nevertheless, if anyone needs help - just let me know.

Rgds, Rainer.

Push notifications are similar to sms. You can receive them even outside your local network, you just need internet connection. This may be very useful for home Automation and security, just imagine a motion detector sending a message when someone is in front of your house when you are not at home.

Hi Rainer,

just tested EGRemoteStudio.

Installed on EG Server (Win7 X64), EGRemote App was updated yesterday, startet EG Remote Studio and EG App on my Galaxy S2
but nothing happens, no device appears.

Any ideas?

Siutsch.

Hi,

the app only tries to register when the app is opened, after a few retries it gives up ... perhaps you just need to close and re-open the app ...

Hi Rainer,

I re-opened the App many times, closed it with Task-Manager, opened again etc.

Also started EGRemoteStudio many times.

Noting happened.

I will try it again tonight.

I've tried again but without success.

I disabled Windows Firewall, closed EG App with Advanced Task Manager, startet again and so on.

Hi,
the problem is already solved, but nevertheless I wanted to post this for other users here:

The android device uses port 3876 to register at EGRemoteStudio. So, depending on your network setup you may have to forward this port!

Perhaps i should make the port configurable in EGRemote :)
