Thanks Walter, that's great. It's working fine for me nowkrambriw wrote:New version uploaded, supporting X10 decoding of received bright/dim commands
One other thing that I have noticed, i'm not sure if it's just me, still learning event ghost. But it does not seem to receive multiple commands that are the same, for example, if I send A1 On, A1 On it only receives 1 command. But if I send A1 On, A1 Off, A1 On then it will receive all 3 commands? I have tested this X10 and HomeEasy. Is it just me?
Thanks.

Actually, this is done by purpose, blocking repeated signals

Ah I see, could there be an option stop suppressing the repeated signals, as I would want the repeat signals when mapping the x10 dim/bright to my homeeasy lamps?krambriw wrote:Actually, this is done by purpose, blocking repeated signals
Sorry to be a pain

Re: RFXtrx
Currently I have an W800RF to decode my x10 rf stick-a-switches, and would be good to move away, and just use the rfxtrx. But the problem I would find is that some of the buttons control my htpc, so for example A1 On will got back a track, A1 Off goes forward a track. But, how it currently works, if I attempt to go forward 2 tracks it would not. I also control the volume in a similar fashion. I was planning to map the x10 dim bright buttons to control my new HomeEasy lights too.krambriw wrote:Can you explain the problem you are facing?
I can continue to use the W800RF, that's not a problem, I am just wondering if anyone else would find multiple commands useful.
Thanks, Allan

I see, I will add a check-box to make it selectable to allow or suppress duplicated events

Re: RFXtrx
Keep in mind that the RFXtrx has also a filter for duplicated messages.
To receive repeated commands using a remote wait half a second between each button press.

Re: RFXtrx
@ Allan,
Pls try this version. You will get an error message when you restart eg but just open the configuration view of the plugin, set the check-box to "Allow duplicated events" and save.
Best regards, Walter

Re: RFXtrx
Thanks Walter, I have tried the new version, and it works perfectly. I can now replace my w800rf!
Re: RFXtrx
I'm a new EventGhost user, and I really like it. Simple, but powerful I guess would be the correct desription!
One problem, though: I have six smoke alarms in my cabin (not a big cabin, but I want one in each room because in a small place like that we need to get out quick if it actually starts burning!), and I managed to see the signal on testing ("panic"), so I have managed to put them into my EventGhost. I use the RFXtrx433 as my sender/receiver for stuff (which you probably understood since I'm posting under this thread...), and I have no problems with switches and stuff.
The problem is that I only saw that signal a couple of times, and when I trigger the "panic" from EventGhost, it only reaches a one or two (varying) of the alarms. I tried with the software that comes with the RFX thing, and that saw every test signal I tried, so I think there must be a problem either in EventGhost itself or in the plug-in. Any idea what this may be?

Re: RFXtrx
I'm not really sure what you mean here....
Are you pressing the test button on the detectors when you are testing or sending a test command from EventGhost?
If you are pressing the test buttons on the detectors, try the latest version and check "Allow duplicated events". Most likely this is otherwise stopping you from seeing them more than one time.
Best regards, Walter

Re: RFXtrx
Thanks! Well, it's really both. I guess I only saw the first event from the test button on the smoke alarms because of duplicate events supression in the version of the plug-in I'm using. But upgrading to the latest version gives me this:
Any idea what that can be?
And the second problem is that when sending the test command from EventGhost it only triggers one or two of the alarms, not all of them.
Code: Select all
Error starting plugin: RFXtrx
Traceback (most recent call last) (1568):
File "C:\Programfiler\EventGhost\eg\Classes\PluginInstanceInfo.py", line 177, in Start
self.instance.__start__(*self.args)
TypeError: __start__() takes exactly 19 arguments (18 given)And the second problem is that when sending the test command from EventGhost it only triggers one or two of the alarms, not all of them.

Re: RFXtrx
After changing to the newer plugin, you need to open the configuration view of the plugin (double-click on it) and save. Then you can start it.
Each detector has a unique address, you have to define one command for each (you might also need to repeat it a couple of times before it is received by the detector depending on the distance from the antenna of the RFXtrx).

Re: RFXtrx
Thanks! The plug-in works now. I will check when I get back to the cabin (using it with remote control software now) if pressing the test button works better now.
But I thought that linked smoke alarms had the same address. Don't they?
