Did you Chang the UDP port in the broadcast action to the same port as the UDP port in terRemote? I believe default of 0 needs to be changed to the same port you have in terRemote.
The port in the plugin is the port on which eg is listening and I could only get it to work by changing it in the action.

Broadcast zone: 255.255.255.255
UDP port: 33333
Respond to self broadcast "checked"

Any new error entries in the log? What does the status page say?

Could you activate the "Options->Send crash reports" checkbox and restart the UDP service?

Theres no error in the event log, not with beta or terremote pro.
Status page sais both network and udp services are running. This is driving me crazy, cant for the life of me figure out whats going wrong :S

That's not what I expected... Certainly rules out what I was thinking could be the cause. Having no error message and the correct status line, the UDP listener must be running as expected. I'll send you another test version with some extra log messages to be sure and maybe get some extra information. However, if everything seems to be ok, on terRemote's end, we are back to testing your network settings. But let's try the new test version first

Did you try to change the broadcast plugin to the ip of your device to rule out broadcast zone errors. Also there were some HTC devices that would only respond to broadcasts that were directed to the devices ip address (Software issue).

Also you can try this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... ster&hl=en to send Subnet broadcasts to 255.255.255.255 or broadcasts the ip of your phone. They should show in the terRemote the event log. This will help trouble shooting in the event your computer is the only device that cannot complete the broadcasts.

Ok, quick update: i got it to work!
The new testversion i got works fine, i first tried sending UDP from my phone to my phone with UDP plugin for tasker.
Then when i saw that worked i again tried sending from the HTPC and it worked.

I havn't had time to do any extensive testing however but i am hoping i'll be able to do that over the weekend.

This is only partly true. It seems to be a problem of many Android devices that their chipset does not react to BROADCAST udp messages when the phone is in sleep mode. I could not yet find a proper workaround for this and I am not sure there is one. However, it does react to DIRECTED edp packets. So you have to set the "Broadcast Zone" of the EG plugin to your device's ip. I tried this and it works for me. Of course, this amount to a similar suggestion as I made before, loading the plugin multiple times for each device and sending to all devices (using multiple broadcast actions). I would recommend putting this into an EG macro.

And i'm back with another problem.. sorry to be such a pain. :/

But when i use the action xbmc get info currently playing video i get the event in log fine but it contains no value, no information just an event saying "network (xbmc)"

Also is it possible to have like a dynamic list of buttons?
Like i would wanna get all my tvshows and display them, then when i click onw i see the seasons and so on..
Kinda like in the xbmc remote app yatse.
With the tv show banners as icon on the buttons to.

So is that possible or is it planned to be added?

The return data is a long string of info that needs to be parsed out. Not sure if can do the in terremote or if its some thing you would have to do in EG.

What your asking for to be added is not an quick thing to add. I can't say what is coming down the pipe line for terRemote bu what I do is have terRemote switch all my inputs and then launch Yatse when I want to use XBMC.

Yea i understand its a pretty big thing but i think it would be a great addition as for launching terremote i had that thought to but then i would need a way to jump back to terremote :/
Couse i want to use the device as a controllunit for my house automation, so i dont want to go out to the homescreen.

What I do, is use a free app called "Target Home" That app allows you to resign you Android home button. So I set it to terremote. So all I have to do his hit home button which brings me right back to terRemote.

Up to now everything worked like a charm but now I need some help. I'm trying to get the hang of the 'flow control' action type. I have a created a remote for FastStone Image Viewer, spread across two layouts. Layout FSV_1 deals with the treeview and thumbnail panels. When I watch the selected image in fullscreen mode, layout FSV_2 is automatically activated. It offers touchpad-panning of the image, next/previous image, zoom etc. Closing fullscreen brings me back to FSV_1.

From both layouts I can invoke a fullscreen display of an image in DevalVR, a panorama viewer that offers exeptionally smooth zooming an panning. In this case, the DevalVR layout is activated. From there I would like to return to the layout (FSV_1 or FSV_2) that brought me to the DevalVR layout. To achieve this purpose the DevalVR-buttons in FSV_1 and FSV_2 use a 'flow control - set global variable' action type in the 'action on click' where I assign the values '1' rsp. '2' (without the quotes) to the global variable 'fsv':

e.g.: Variable: ${fsv}
Value: 2

In the DevalVR layout the Escape-button that terminates the application has the following 'action on click':

Network (EventGhost): dvlEscape
Flow control, Type 'If':
Condition: $math{${fsv}==1}
If True: Show Layout FSV_1

DevalVR is terminated, but FSV_2 is never shown regardless from where I invoked DevalVR. I don't know what I'm missing. I also tried $if{$math{${fsv}==1}} and

To me, the terRemote stuff discussed here, looks pretty heavy. Maybe I'm blindfolded and the answer to my question is easy. I searched this forum but I couldn't find a clue. So I'm stuck. Any help appreciated.

Its a little hard to follow what you are trying to do. But let me see if I can help. First you have a program running called FastStone Image Viewer on your PC? Or are you running an app on your phone? I am assuming from a quick Google search you are running a program on a PC. So if I follow you, when you find an image you want to view, you are then launching another program, called DevalVR. Correct? And if so, your having problems getting back to FastStone Image Viewer? Correct?

So is your only problem on the PC side, or are you having issues with terRemote layouts navigation as well?

In Flow_Control>Set_Global_Variable>Name:
Do you have "${fsv}" or "fsv"? As you should only use the ${} when calling on the variable not setting the variable.
If the variable was set correctly, cycle your actions so the variable will show in Menu(button)>Options>Status.
Is your variable listed? Does it change value when you press the buttons?

Also $math{${your_variable}==X} is correct for number values of X
