Hi molitar,
your plugin does not work well for me.
Only mouse left button is working.
Instead of right button I've got:
254 1 0 2
Instead of up button I've got:
254 255 0 2
254 255 0 2
254 255 0 2
Instead of down button I've got:
2 0 0 2
Moreover other buttons stopped working after playing with mouse buttons... (mentioned in my previous post)

make sure you are actually using the driver USB-Remote-Driver that you need to download.. What I did was extract the driver to a folder.. than installed it.. it will install as the DAnschis Ebay Fernbedienung. It will than give proper values I had that same problem with the single .inf driver download.. Only the actuals USB-Remote-Driver.exe had the right driver for me.

Ok here is how mine is identified in device manager...
USB\VID_073A&PID_2230&REV_0200
Also did you install the driver in the HID devices titled DAnschis Ebay Fernbedienung? Mine did not work correctly until I manually installed this driver in the right device. Also make sure to have ignore numlock enabled.. and play with the numlock button until the correct values shows up. The other numlocks will give nonsense values returned.

The ID is the same. I don't know where I can get "DAnschis Ebay Fernbedienung" driver... It is not in the
http://www.eventghost.org/downloads/USB ... Driver.exe.

Ok I have attached the modified inf file it's from one of the users in here that modified it.. it's the one that works for me. Drop this one in the USB-Remote-Driver folder that you extracted and point to this inf file for driver.

Hi,
I recognized my earlier
Post wasen't the smartest one and figured out that I had to edit init.py. I managed to add the color buttons and the info button.
See attached file.

I have one of those IR receivers from ebay and I can't seem to get it working with eventghost. I tried following all the instructions on this thread, but I probably got it wrong as I am new to eventghost and can not readily recognize what is right and what is wrong.
When I try to update the driver via the device manager by pointing to a driver DLL, I get a message that the driver can not be installed. When I try using one of the driver installers I get a message the the driver was installed successfully but there is no change in the driver shown in device manager. After I copy the PY, PYC, and INF plugin files to the plugin folder, I am able to install the "Deal Extreme USB PC remote" plugin to the start section, but then I get an error messages in the log and no apparent response from clicking the buttons on the remote.
I have spent many may hours trying the different drivers and plugin files linked on this thread, but I can not seem to get this going. Any help in identifying what I got wrong would be appreciated. I attached some pics that might help.
OS: Windows XP SP3
EventGhost: 0.3.7.r1436

Are you making sure to use the right device id in the device manager to manually force install the driver? Go into driver details tab and use the pull down to select hardware ID make sure the hardware ID for the HID device matches than do a manual install of the driver.. Just extract the driver to a folder and copy the driver_mod.inf that you should have downloaded from here for the remote 'DAnschis Ebay Fernbedienung' and copy to that folder. You have to replace the original driver.inf file and use that to install the driver. My earlier post has the driver_mod file you need.

OK, I solved my earlier problem with installing the DAnschis Ebay Fernbedienung driver for my IR reviever. Running the USB-Remote-Driver.exe file with the INF file was not working for me. I had to instead choose Update Driver in Device Mangager and select the the "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install" option during the update process. During this process, the wizard asked for two DLL files that it could not find (WinUSBCoInstaller.dll and WdfCoInstaller01007.dll) . I searched my PC for them and found them in an obsure location in the Windows folder. After locating these two files and pointing to them in the wizard, the wizard competed the update and the IR receiver now appears in the Device Manager as DAnschis Ebay Fernbedienung. Also, the remote control events now appear in the Eventghost log when buttons on the remote are pressed. Yeh!!! I thought I would pass this solution on for anyone else experiencing the same problem while trying to install the driver.
Now that I got eventghost to recognize my IR receiver when using the remote that came with the IR receiver, is there a way to get eventghost to recognize other remotes with this IR receiver? I ask becasue I would like to use my Comcast remote and/or Samsung plasma tv remote instead of the one that came with this IR receiver? If someone knows that this is definately not possible, it will save me lots of time trying to figure it out.
Thanks in advance for any info on this.

Well, I think if nobody owns that remote then nobody can tell....
But it looks quite similar to the one some people here (including myself) are using.
If its recognized as a USB-HID-device the possibility to get it runnung should be quite good.
Maybe some modifications of the .ini are necessary.
Just try it....

Dear All,
I'm new here, but I've spent many hours already to get this stubborn remote to work properly. As most of others here, when I press buttons on the remote some of them are recognized by EG as keystrokes but some as HID commands.
This is the photo of remote I've purchased the following remote on Ebay:
This is how it is recognized by Device Manager:
I've changed drive.info posted in
driver_mod.zip by
molitar. Here is the result (I've changed only
Hardware ID):

and
put it into a folder with extracted files from
http://www.eventghost.org/downloadsUSB- ... Driver.exe
Than I executed
DPInst_x86,
but nothing changed in recognition of the RC in the Device Manager
What I've been doing wrong? Could please somebody clarify?

Finally, I bought this remote. But I can not make it work with EventGhost.
What I have to do or change to test if it works?
Thanks
