Thank you phlox, new plugin is much better. I use dvbv/recservice and XBMC combo.
Both program are open all time, i only disable dvbv audio/video, when quick switch to xbmc. It works, but sometimes eventghost just hangs.
Now all works mutch better. Again, thank you for good job.

I just installed the newest plugin, but EG starts with 2 error-messages:
Cant' find action: DVBViewer.GetRecordingsIDs()
Cant' find action: DVBViewer.Exit()

Are this actions renamed or missing?

EDIT: The problem is the additional "S" in DVBViewer.GetRecordingsIDs() - this is the name in the old/original DVBViewer-plugin. If I change the name in my existing XML, both failures vanishes...

BTW: When I install newer EG versions, the plugin gets always overwritten - is there a possibility to protect it? Or the EG installer should include your new plugin...

There are 1001 reasons that can make EG hanging - I hope that I fixed the majority of those related to the DVBViewer plugin. But EG is like Win 3.1 / Win 95: it's a collaborative system, if only one component (i.e. other plugin) doesn't behave as expected, the whole system hangs.

Oops, that's probably my mistake, it was actually not intended to change existing action names. However, I think I leave it now like this.

EG includes an older version of the DVBViewer plugin (version 2.1.2 I provided some posts before). Therefore, if you reinstall EG, it overwrites the most current version 3.0.0 of the DVBViewer plugin.

I'll contact Pako and ask him to include newest version with the next EG build. I just waited some time to be sure that the plugin is really stable - at least in my environment it is.

Maybe you could leave a reference of the old name (GetRecordingsIDs) for compatibility reasons...

Ok, I agree. I'll fix it and publish a new version 3.0.1 soon - I'm currently testing it in my environment before making it public.

However, note that the action 'GetRecordingsIDs' is deprecated and might be removed in a future release, I suggest to use the generic action 'GetTimerDetails' instead. Just ask if you need support for the migration (PM or here).

I bought a Zotac Mini-PC recently and have tried desperately to get Eventghost working with DVBViewer. Here's my specs:

Zotac AD05 + Zotac MCE remote
Win7 x64
DVBViewer 4.9.6.20
Eventghost 0.4.1.r1600
- Plugin: HID: PHILIPS MCE USB IR Receiver- Spinel plus (4 of these actually to get all the buttons on the remote working)
- DVBViewer plugin 3.0.1

If I start DVBViewer with the assigned button (HID.Button.1) it starts, but any other commands do not get through. This is the error I get in Eventghost:

DVBViewer plugin included with Eventghost (2.something) did not print this error, just "DVBViever.DVBViewerCouldNotBeConnected" with the same end result. I tried other versions of Eventghost also but to no avail.

I also noticed that if Eventghost is running and I start DVBViewer with mouse and then close it, DVBViewer restarts and then quits with an error message. But maybe that's related to the same issue.

Any idea what I could try next? Not sure if this is a bug or something related to my setup. Any help is appreciated, I'm getting really desparate here

Did you already try to reinstall DVBViewer? Maybe DVBViewer's COM registration is somehow corrupted.

If that doesn't help: Does 'DVBViewer Spy' (another program using the COM interface, downloadable in members area) properly work? If yes, then the problem might be related to EventGhost / DVBViewer plugin and we have to search further. If not, then the problem is related to DVBViewer itself.

I tried reinstalling DVBViewer but it didn't help. Will try DVBViewer Spy next time I get to the PC where I have the DVBViewer site password stored.

I disabled a couple unnecessary Windows services earlier while trying to squeeze all out of the CPU. Not sure if that could have caused the problem.

I've only been using EG for one day so it is likely I'm doing something wrong...but...

I have mapped my MCE-remote to all the actions needed for me, and it works great.
Problem is, I also use other programs like Mediaportal, JRMC etc, and while using them, whenever I press a button that is mapped to DvbViewer, it starts up the program..! I mean, I have mapped "liveTV"-button on my MCE-remote to start up DvbViewer, but ANY mapped button starts the program..?!?

It's very likely that I'm missing something here...is there an easy fix for this..?

Hi

The problem is that you still send commands to DVBViewer. Sending commands to DVBViewer through the COM interface also launches DVBViewer even it is not running.

I suggest you...
1. To move all DVBViewer related macros into one subfolder (if not already done)
2. Add Plugin 'Task Create/Switch Events'
3. Create two macros:

Macro EnableDVBViewer:
Event: 'Task.Activated.dvbviewer'
Action: EventGhost.Enable an item <Folder: DVBViewer macros>

Macro DisableDVBViewer:
Event: 'Task.Deactivated.dvbviewer'
Action: EventGhost.Disable an item <Folder: DVBViewer macros>

I finally got to check this. DVBViwer Spy seems to be working, at least it lists all the events taking place when starting DVBViewer, changing channels etc.

However, the COM interface error in Eventghost is still there I tried reinstalling DVBViewer earlier, it didn't help either.

Any ideas what to try next?

• start 'eventghost.exe -debug' => a debug log file is written to C:\Users\<youraccount>\AppData\Roaming\EventGhost\Log.txt
• Install plugin 'Log Redirector' (can be found in this forum) and configure it to write a log file to C:\Users\<youraccount>\AppData\Roaming\EventGhost\EventGhost_Log.txt
• Reproduce the problem, then close EventGhost
• Send me a) your EG configuration XML (no restraint, it's not a beauty contest) b) the debug log file Log.txt and c) the screen log file EventGhost_Log.txt

Then I'll look into it - however, I can't promise anything; earlier you wrote

First of all, thanks a lot for your help and support!

I did the above, hopefully I got it all right. I attached the log files and the xml here since I couldn't find a way to PM a file.

I haven't configured DVBViewer that much yet, basically just the startup but the problem occurs right away of course.

I am using Win7 SP1 64-bit. The computer is actually at my parents' house, so I won't be able continue the debug until three weeks time or so.
