Download them?Buddhakeks wrote:where can i get more buttons / icons?
Make them?
Also one of the iPhone app/plugins has a bunch of png icons you could probably use if you wanted to. They are all in one of the HTML/image folders of the plugin.

Re: Android Client
Anyone know if this app will work on a Honeycomb device? It will not download from the market to it, so I'm assuming not.
I emailed Tim (from his address posted in beginning of this thread) to ask if he plans to develope it for Tablets/Honeycomb. He appears to have been inactive on this for several months.
I haven't started with EventGhost yet. Want to be sure I can use something on my tablet before I start. I found this product while searching for something to work with Girder.

Re: Android Client
I've got it running on my nook. It runs fine but it displays the size of a phone unfortunately.
Re: Android Client
App is updated for tablet support
I hope to get some more done soon! I'm glad everyone is making good use of it, and I am sorry I haven't had time to update, but hopefully this is about to change
Re: Android Client
What features are you planning to add?
setup... XBMC, W7MC for DVR & Live OTA TV, JRMC for multi-zone audio, EG, MiCasaVerde Vera3, USB-UIRT IR receiver, Harmony remote, 5.2 home theater system
Re: Android Client
Highest priority is working on layouts:
It needs a new layout UI - I know the current system is horrible. You should be able to drag items around to wherever you want - maybe grid aligned, maybe not. I am working on something, but it's taking a bit to get it implemented.
Switching layouts is not as nice as it should be.. I know some are asking for swipe (which I used to have in there), but I think it would be better to come up with a nicer 'Switch layout' UI - which could show you previews and click to switch. This could potentially be brought up by a swipe gesture.
Beyond those two, here is my todo list for the next version (some may or may not make it):

Beyond those two, here is my todo list for the next version (some may or may not make it):
- Enhancements
- New LayoutView/Editor
- Better Layout Switching (swipe for sidebar/layout list/previews)
- Layout shortcuts
- ADD_LOG_ENTRY intent for other apps
- Clean up Resource strings (help for translations)
- Allow macro creation from incoming events in log
- Change Defaults for 'Android Events' to false
Plugins - Better Plugin documentation and samples (so you guys can help!)

- Android Events
- Any Android related events/actions will be here
- Move 'Start Application' action here
- Add additional payload info on calls (caller name)
- New Wifi Events (When connected/disconnected to a specific SSID/Network)
- New Locations Events (When location coordinates change)
- New Accelerometer Events (When readings change)
- New Open URL in Browser Event - New Application Events Plugin
- Moved from Settings screen - New EventGhost Plugin
- All EventGhost related events/actions will be here
- Move Forward Events, Load Layout, Applications Events here
- Server Events
- Disable/Enable Server action - New Tasker plugin
- New Locale plugin
Bugs - Adding shorcuts with 3rd party apps (multiicon widget, launcherpro, etc)
- Changing Ports, enabling/disabling server is still a little wacky
- Server - long time to respond back
- Slow layout load/save/etc...
- When load layout fails, crashes when trying to create new layout
- Backlog of events?
- Improve dispatchKeys for Hardware Key Events
- Payloads - certain long payloads not being sent?
- If exiting while in edit mode, layout is not saved (like hitting HOME)
- When enabling server, details don't refresh with new info
- Events conflict with existing events (XBMC.Mute == Mute)
- Application events (GENERATE_EVENTS) should log the activity/app name which generated the event instead of a generic "From App" message
Re: Android Client
very nice!
I'd love to use your app for 2 main purposes...
1) create custom screens/buttons for launching EG Macros and sending raw HTTP commands to other apps (hopefully even with the same button; 1 button = multiple events)
2) As a 'home base' + wrapper/launcher to other apps and web UIs... so if other apps do spcific things well (XBMC Remote app, JRMC remote via browser, etc) I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel with your app... I'm using your app to launch the other apps/browser-pages and monitor when they close so it goes back to your app.
thoughts?

Re: Android Client
I have something more in store for the "launcher" idea... for now though, I might add 'Local Server' to the servers list. This could let you setup a Macro in the Android app, then in your layout, you could specify Local Server to send events locally. From there, you could use existing actions like launch app..
The ability to send multiple events or run multiple macros is on my list, it just might be awhile.

Re: Android Client
great update as it nows runs properly on my Nook running CM7. I think it could be time to finally get rid of NetRemote and my collection on Win PDAs. Woo Hoo. Great work!
Re: Android Client
I don't really use payloads that much.. what is the preferred method - just comma-delimited information?vuego wrote:Thanks liquid8, this is the only thing I'm missing for the momentliquid8 wrote:- Add additional payload info on calls (caller name)
Glad to hear it.. I'm testing on a Xoom/Nexus One/G1, so any feedback on how it functions with other devices is helpful. I plan to work on some improvements for tablets soon, just wanted to make it work for nowWinoOutWest wrote:great update as it nows runs properly on my Nook running CM7.
