lol. I am experimenting. I am not familiar with phpBB. I was trying to make it read only. Thanks for the heads up. I'm working on it.

Re: IMPORTANT!!! EventGhost is moving - EventGhost Forum Ver
I am very grateful to all who participated in the successful launch of the new forum.
I think, that this job done especially zian and jitterjames.
Thank you and congratulations!
Now we are still waiting for Shell services on SourceForge.net ... I'm still trying, but so far unsuccessfully.
I found that even our wikis do not work. I am looking for what might help us.
I found this and this.
Maybe it helps.

Re: IMPORTANT!!! EventGhost is moving - EventGhost Forum Ver
It seems that it is not possible to install MoinMoin on our godaddy server because it does not support shell services. It is possible to install SimpleMachinesForum (SMF).
I think we have two obvious choices.
1) Put the wiki on sourceforge (or some other site that supports moinmoin)
2) use SMF on godaddy, and get volunteers to transfer the wiki over. I do not know if it is possible to run a conversion of some kind or if it would need to be done by hand.
I vote for #2 even if it has to be transferred by hand, page by page, because I dont' think the wiki is very big anyway. I think it is better to have the main site, documentation, forum and wiki all at eventghost.net and only have the SVN at sourceforge.
I could start a poll, or people could just give there opinions in this thread...

Is SMF really a wiki? I find only information about it being a forum.
Does godaddy provide MediaWiki?

sorry, I mean mediaWiki. my bad.
Re: IMPORTANT!!! EventGhost is moving - EventGhost Forum Ver
Ok, then i would also say #2. Install MediaWiki and create the pages new. I will start with copying the wiki from .org to .net, if no other wants to

OK then. If no one objects to that, I will try to set up the mediawiki tomorrow.
You might be able to get help from jwka and Kalia. I think they offered.
I'll post here again once it is set up. Thanks

There are many posts waiting for "approval" for nearly a week. So this forum is currently of not much more use than the old one.
Please post software-related questions in the forum - PMs will only be answered, if really private, thanks!

This forum is up and running and full of usefull information...
The other is not.
In my book that makes this forum much more useful.
Waiting for approvel?
News to me.
Let the approving commence.

What posts are awaiting approval and why do they even need to be approved?

Every post of a newly registered user. I guess because you altered the forum settings that way.jitterjames wrote:What posts are awaiting approval and why do they even need to be approved?

OK, I think I found it. I had no idea. For one thing I was marked as Admin but not as Moderator!
I added Zian Pako and myself as Moderators.

Did we miss out on any posts worthy of waiting on?
Btw...
Sorry folks for any inconvenience.
(unless your post was spam... No "sorry" for you.)
Thanks James.
Good work my friend.
(I'm gonna talk to somebody about getting you a raise.)

I don't think anything was lost, unless a new user got frustrated and left...
