I would be interested in seeing your plugin. Kasinator's plugin has been working well for me, but it is fairly cryptic to configure for a novice. If yours has easier configuration, and generates events which are in plain English, I think it would be a great improvement.

Well here it is. Don't expect too much of this initial version! The basic functionality is there (loading and handling libcec). You will certainly find answers to questions you asked earlier in this thread.

For configuration and logs I use the enum names where possible (for convenience). For instance, a string like 'CEC_DEVICE_TYPE_RECORDING_DEVICE' is still a bit cryptic, but at least it's easy to work out.

The high-level functionality (event structure, actions) is usable, but is where I think more work will be needed. As far as the HDMI-CEC standard is concerned, I am also still a novice, so I'm learning as I go.
