they can be the same driver as what is on HP's website. but don't always count on that being the case. that is why I suggest going right to the actual device manufacturer.
Set it to anything so long as it has a decimal value other then 0.

22.15
22.05

I just realized something, I just tried back at the original 1.00 then 3.00 and 4.00, no matter what I change those numbers to the volume increments does not change so that seems to be the issue and not only changing under 1.00%.

I just tried the original EG-OTSAV file which the guy had created for me years ago with which everything was working for comparison, this is it here btw. Changing only the first digits in this original file [1.00 to 2.00 e.t.c] doesn't change the increments.

Man, I had forgotten about this my apologies. The original machine I had set this up on is an older Dell machine which I had stored away. I just plugged the receiver and tested everything with the remote all works perfectly with none of the current issues. No noise or clicks when pressing any button on the remote, the remote functions work with the OTSAV software in fullscreen and the volume increments moving up and down in smaller increments.

So, any idea on what I can do next to compare this old machine's settings with my previous HP machine to try to see what might be causing the HP and the Mac issues please? We can refer to the old machine as Dell and the existing as HP to keep things simple and accurate. I figure if we can narrow down and fix the issue on the HP then we can apply whatever to the mac.

This is the original EG OTSAV file attached and both machines are win 7 Home Premium version. The Dell soundcard has the Realtek High Definition Audio driver version 6.0.1.5555 and the HP driver version is 6.0.1.8186

The one thing which stands out is that with the Dell, there were no Snapstream remote drivers showing in the Programs and Features. Reason for this as I remember is that only the basic Firefly drivers for the Snapstream remote was installed which was available at that time. With the HP I can see the Snaptream Firefly driver installed as this included the Beyond Media remote's software so I don't know if that has anything to do with this?

Wait, hold the phone. I simply opened the EG-OTSAV file in previous post and now everything works on the HP!!!

Now that is strange because that I think is the same file I had backed up and used on the HP at the onset so I am baffled why it works now opening the file directly from a copy on it on my USB drive.

no worries m8.

I simply wanted to know what the cause was and to also know if it is something that could come up again. but if you have already deleted the old files we may never know..
Not a biggie. I am glad to see that you have it up and running.

Well, you called it, on the Mac windows, it's back to the same issues. It still works on the HP as it should. Does this mean something on the Mac windows might be conflicting with the Snapstream? I did notice the EG green arrow icon was showing in red color in the system tray on startup but turned green when I right-click and opened EG. Any ideas please?

ok so what we need to do is make sure all of the drivers are installed.

did you insert the MAC OSX disc and run the installer for the windows drivers?
Are you running Windows in a VM?

If you are running windows in a VM please be sure you have the VM insert the Guest Services CD (it's a virtual CD with drivers on it) This is most definitely going to be a driver related issue but not with the drivers for the remote, chances are it's with the USB ports them selves.

No the Mac windows7 was installed via bootcamp but when doing so bootcamp finds and installs the relevant drivers for windows.

BTW, Parallels works great seamlessly switching between mac and windows softwares and will do everything I need. The trial ended today but I had the chance to test out everything on my imac with the trial version of OTSAV and Serato free version so I will get Parallels soon as I can afford it.

let me see if i can get an extended trial for ya. this way we can work through it and make sure everything works as intended. don't want you spending money if it ends up being a failure.

I will send them an e-mail and ask.

if you have the trial key or whatever information you had to use to get the trial handy. send it to me in a PM. this way i can send it on over to the makers of parallels and see if we can get the trial extended for ya,

it might be easier for you to ask them for an extension. tell them you have been trying to get this remote to work. which works on a Windows installed on a non mac computer but will not work with Windows installed on a mac. tell them you were using a trial version to make sure everything would work properly and then trial has just expired. but still want to get the remote to work before purchasing. ask if they can extend the trial. and also ask if they know what would be causing the issue with the remote.

You may get a solution and an extended trial.

Thank you for the offer but I think there might be some confusion here so let me clarify please. I did not try Parallels on the macbook with windows7 installed via bootcamp, I tried Parallels on my imac with win10 just to see how Parallels work. So the problem with windows 7 and the remote issues is unrelated to Parallels.

This means what I would need to try to figure out is why the original EG file Topix had created for me some years ago works fine on the HP machine but is having issues on the macbook's windows 7? I think that pretty much sums it up.

Only the file I think because the remote's buttons are doing their normal job. As an example with the vol up and down I can see the key presses with the remote's software [Beyond Media] working while pressing the buttons just it's not carrying out "some" of the functions as it does on the HP machine.
