Hi,

I need help! :?

I have a "Deal Extreme USB PC Remote" and changed the driver with
"USB-Remote-Driver" from here (Windows7 x64).
After changing the driver.inf the driver was found.

With Eventghost I use "DX_USB_Remote_modified" from molitar
(from Page4, 11.09.2009).

Everything is fine, I can use every Key on the remote.

But I have to press many keys twice, bevore Eventghost detect them.

If I for example press pause, play, stop or something, I allways have to press
the buttons twice, oder some other button before.
Only every second klick ist detected by Eventghost.

The Buttons for up, down, left right and select are working, every klick
is detected.

Anybody with an idea why this happens?

Siutsch.

I'm having a similar problem.

I'm using the TechniSat USB IR Plugin with a cheap remote (USB\\VID_04B4&PID_0100)

Everytime I press a button I get this:

1:51:32 PM TechniSatUsb.000000000100
1:51:32 PM TechniSatUsb.002700000000
1:51:32 PM TechniSatUsb.010000000000

Can someone tell me how to interpret this and mod the plugin?

Hi, I have a chinese remote, very similar to Pako's (it looks like a cheap copy).
EG reports something like this:

System.DeviceAttached [u'\\\\?\\USB#VID_04B4&PID_0100#5&2ed89f64&0&1#{a5dcbf10-6530-11d2-901f-00c04fb951ed}']
System.DeviceAttached [u'\\\\?\\HID#VID_04B4&PID_0100&Col02#6&f55ddd0&0&0001#{4d1e55b2-f16f-11cf-88cb-001111000030}']
System.DeviceAttached [u'\\\\?\\HID#VID_04B4&PID_0100&Col03#6&f55ddd0&0&0002#{4d1e55b2-f16f-11cf-88cb-001111000030}']
System.DeviceAttached [u'\\\\?\\HID#VID_04B4&PID_0100&Col05#6&f55ddd0&0&0004#{4d1e55b2-f16f-11cf-88cb-001111000030}']
System.DeviceAttached [u'\\\\?\\HID#VID_04B4&PID_0100&Col01#6&f55ddd0&0&0000#{4d1e55b2-f16f-11cf-88cb-001111000030}']
System.DeviceAttached [u'\\\\?\\HID#VID_04B4&PID_0100&Col04#6&f55ddd0&0&0003#{4d1e55b2-f16f-11cf-88cb-001111000030}']

Now, I know how to insert the VID and PID into the .inf file of the USB-Remote-Driver, but I don't know what to do with the DeviceInterfaceGUIDs part.
I've tried everything and Windows 7 still shows "USB Input Device" and all the HID devices, even though the driver seems to install.

Any thoughts?

It's the same receiver I have, but not the same remote.

Attached is the modified TechniSat USB pluggin, use it and EG will download and install the correct driver.

Good luck.

thanks a lot!
it works, I assume you meant me to use EG 0.4.0, right?
can it be made to work in 0.3.7, i wonder?

later edit: it works in EG 0.3.7 too, the .py file works just the same, I tried saving the driver files from Windows\System32\DriverStore and that also works, so I think I'm future proof!

I have the exact same remote as the one in the above image (a Cyp Se WitheHome cheapo).
I couldn't get it to work for the longest time on XP... until this morning. :)
This is how I got mine to work...I think.

I read this thread about 20 times...
http://www.eventghost.org/forum/viewtop ... home#p9546

I downloaded the USB Remote Driver.exe from here...
http://www.eventghost.org/downloads/USB ... Driver.exe

I did as Bitmonster suggested (unpack the USB Remote Driver.exe with 7Zip and changed the driver.inf to match my remote (the one pictured above) (%Device001.DeviceDesc%=Install001,USB\VID_04B4&PID_0100), saved and installed the changed USB Remote Driver.exe.

I also had to change the EG USB-PC Remote plugin __init__.py file mach the changed guid to the one in that other thread.

I haven't a clue what most of that means but it WORKED!!! (for me)
If you need any more help LMK... Good Luck.

This might not work for you as is depending on the driver. I know I had to customize mine too. (see one of the above links I mentioned in my first post to this thread.
Good luck and if you need any more help...I'll try my best.

I have a Hama MCE Remote. It's also named as Hama 52451. Its probably the same as Ortek VRC-1100, Adesso ARC-1100 and Auvisio VRC-1100.

The remote is working with these USB drivers and a replaced __init__.py file for the Auvisio Plugin. But there are some limitations:

Known Problems:
- OK and Enter buttons are the same
- Pause and Play are the same
- Rightclick is info
- Mouse Pad not working

These 3 buttons which are double binded had been working per default, but not anymore with the updated USB drivers, Eventghost just puts out the exact same numbers in the logfile.
I guess this is limited by the drivers itself, is there any chance to modify them to get all buttons working?

Here come WinUSB plugins for Gyration GYR3101US/GYR3101EU (Media Center Remote) and Dell Premium Remote (M2010).

Image

Since this remote consists of a free air mouse and a keyboard part I replaced only the keyboard part (marked red and cyan in the image). The downside is that the compact keyboard sometimes bundled with this remote does not work anymore, because it uses the same HID device.

I am currently running EG0.3.7.r1346 & XP SP3

I have the following remote i bought from ebay.
hardware id is VID_04b4&PID_0100.

I changed the driver.inf - last entry to the above hardware and product id.
device manager shows up the USB PC remote controller there.

I then added the attached plugin from Jul 05 2009 post to plugins folder. I m able to successfully add to EG but after that nothing happens. No keypress is recognized.

Could someone help me with the same?

After no one else here seems to have the problem with only every second key is recognized, I played around with some other drivers from the Thread.

With the driver "DX_USB_Remote_2.zip" from user cichmen from one post earlier on page 4 "Tue February 9, 2010 12:09 am" everything works great!

The difference between these two drivers is probably that with the one from molitar the mouse control is also supported.
Since I do not use this, just the big parts of the other buttons, I do not mind that.

Now everything finally works for me as desired. :D

Yesterday I tried to do it, but the driver does not want to work with him.
Eventghost v0.37 win7-64bit.
This is the kind of me: http://www.eventghost.org/forum/viewtop ... 332#p11332
He always says, that the device can not start. (Code 10)
I tried to replace the inf file of the hardware id, but went anyway.
I have the HID devices is the remote control (two hardware detected).
The hardware ID does not begin with USB.
My hardware id:
"HID\VID_06B4&PID_1C70&REV_0200"
and:
"HID\VID_073A&PID_2230"

Can someone help me?

Sorry for bad english, google translate.
