hmmm I'm not sure. I'm using ShowOSD eg.event.payload[1] to show the caller's number. Perhaps I could use eg.event.payload[2] for caller name? Or put it all in payload[1] and I'll split it by script :)

I found it.. next release you will be able to send multiple payloads, split with a | :) I'll just need to update the Android Events plugin to match caller info with number and use that.

Where on my android device do I find the "icons" from the layouts that I have downloaded as well as the "standard" icons?

Is it possible to backup the layouts on my PC. Where are these stored on my Android?

Unfortunately, the storage of the layouts is pretty crude at the moment. Everything (including icons) is stored in a single .eglayout file. These files are typically located in /sdcard/eventghost/, and can be backed up or copied anywhere you like.. just put them back into the same location. If there is no sdcard, the layouts are stored in the applications files directory, /data/data/com.timhoeck.android.tivoremote/files/. I hope to improve how the layouts are stored soon (a zip with the individual files would be nice).

I do have a external and internal sdcard - no .eglayout file in either of these locations.

I looked under "data" on the main drive for my android. Nothing there either. I found and eventghost folder on the main drive, but this location only had a 2 KB New Layout.eglayout file.

Do I need to root my phone to access the "applications files directory" that you mentioned?

I had the same problem trying to find mine. In the end I just ended up uploading the layout to the repository so I could transfer it to another phone/tablet. Works fine but its going to make a mess of the repository over time if this continues.

I ended up sending mine to the repository also. The problem is, I am always modifying the various layouts that I am using. It would be nice to resolve this or to be able to have the layout file emailed to me (actually, this would not help because I would not know where to save it back to on my phone). I have a feeling that the phone has to be "rooted" to access the file. I am scared to do this, as it may void my warranty and or brick my phone.

Any other suggestions liquid8?

me too - all my phones/tablets are rooted - but that didn't seem to help me find my layouts.

Hi there Tim!

I've been following you and your app(s) for sometime now, and digging your work. Are you leaving your site btw?

Getting to my point: I would very much like to be able to have different icons in one layout pointing to different servers.
In other words have the layouts be independent from the servers. Could this be done?

Best regards...

I am concerned that the Layout Repository (accessed from within the options menu within the Eventghost app on your android phone) is now down. I now have no way to "back up" my layouts. I tried to figure out how to access the layout file (see comments above) with no success.

Will you be getting this function up and running again Tim?

I think that this application has great potential. I would gladly pay to keep it up and running.

Is development on this application now dead?

All the best,
David

Is Tim still around? Will this app be developed further?

Would it be possible for a macro on EventGhost for Android to turn the ring volume on/off? I'd use it to mute the phone by a macro sent from my HTPC when starting a movie and then auto unmute when the movie ends :)

I think he is still tinkering with the software, but may not be full steam. He doesn't appear to frequent this thread very often...at least not recently.
