Hello!

First I have to thank you for the good work with this plugin! Thank you!
I thought that I would post a suggestion here before I modify only MY version of the plugin.
I have alot of sensors in my system and they generate ALOT of events.
One way to solve this is to keep track of all sensors and their values, and only send events when the values change.
And also a setting where you can silence sensor-events only. And query their values from the plugin instead, through scripts or something like {eg.plugins.TellstickDuo.Sensors.device73.temperature}.

Hope we can add this!

Once again, thanks!

Kind regards,
Torbj├Ârn Westerlund.

Hi Thorbj├Ârn,
Thanks, I think is no big deal to add those features. Reason why I have hesitated is that I have been waiting for such improvements inside the device itself but it seems this will not happen next. I'll look into this but expect another week or so, I'm rather busy upcoming weeks...

New version published in first post. The above functionality asked for is now implemented.

To access latest sensor readings, you can use a script like in the following sample:

Code: Select all

m = eg.plugins.TellStickDuo.plugin.sensor_state_memory
print m
n = m['mandolyn|temperaturehumidity|81|Humidity:']
print n

In my case it gives the following:

Code: Select all

11:09:28   {'fineoffset|temperaturehumidity|255|Temperature:': 'fineoffset|temperaturehumidity|255|Temperature:|-0.0', 'mandolyn|temperaturehumidity|81|Humidity:': 'mandolyn|temperaturehumidity|81|Humidity:|89', 'fineoffset|temperaturehumidity|0|Humidity:': 'fineoffset|temperaturehumidity|0|Humidity:|0', 'oregon|1A2D|21|Temperature:': 'oregon|1A2D|21|Temperature:|22.7', 'oregon|1A2D|31|Temperature:': 'oregon|1A2D|31|Temperature:|-9.3', 'oregon|1A2D|7|Temperature:': 'oregon|1A2D|7|Temperature:|6.2', 'fineoffset|temperature|255|Temperature:': 'fineoffset|temperature|255|Temperature:|-204.7', 'oregon|1A2D|166|Temperature:': 'oregon|1A2D|166|Temperature:|22.2', 'mandolyn|temperaturehumidity|11|Temperature:': 'mandolyn|temperaturehumidity|11|Temperature:|-7.9', 'mandolyn|temperaturehumidity|81|Temperature:': 'mandolyn|temperaturehumidity|81|Temperature:|-7.9', 'oregon|1A2D|230|Temperature:': 'oregon|1A2D|230|Temperature:|22.8', 'fineoffset|temperaturehumidity|255|Humidity:': 'fineoffset|temperaturehumidity|255|Humidity:|0', 'oregon|1A2D|32|Temperature:': 'oregon|1A2D|32|Temperature:|-5.1', 'fineoffset|temperaturehumidity|0|Temperature:': 'fineoffset|temperaturehumidity|0|Temperature:|0.0', 'mandolyn|temperaturehumidity|11|Humidity:': 'mandolyn|temperaturehumidity|11|Humidity:|88'}
11:09:28 mandolyn|temperaturehumidity|81|Humidity:|89
You have of course to adopt accordingly but it gives you an idea how to access the data from a script (or from code in another plugin).

The problem accurs when i've pushed my wall transmitter (wst-512) a feew times, then eventghost just stops reciving events. It's like the plugin is no more :)
Works like two or three times.

I don't know if it's anyting i'm doing wrong or if it's a bug.

Thanks for a nice plugin otherwise!
I've noticed that this issue only occurs when I'm using the "Wait some time" action i a macro.

Ok, understood, I can make some verification tests as well but first tell me:

- how does the macro look like? Attach a picture
- is the wait before or after the TellStickDuo event?
- why do you need the wait?

I'm having instability issues with the TellStick Duo plugin.
For testing purposes I have a fresh installation of EventGhost 0.4.1.r1600, TellStickDuo_15.09.2012 and TellDus Center 2.1.1.

1. Create a new empty EventGhost configuration, add the TellStickDuo plugin to Autostart and save as test.xml.
2. Simply open the test.xml again while it's already loaded. A message box says that EventGhost needs to be restarted.
TellStickDuo - Restart of EG needed.png
3. Select File / Exit.
EventGhost hangs. The EG icon is stuck in the notification area and doesn't respond to left or right click. I have to use Task Manager to stop Eventghost.exe.

Any ideas?

Just installed a clean PC with EG and noticed that Tellstick Duo plugin at http://www.eventghost.org/downloads/ was older than the one in this thread.
Mayby a link could help.

Thanks again for a fanstastic developing-job.
Tellstick Duo Batch3 FW5, Nexa/Jula-brytare, temp-mätare (Teknikmag), fuktmätare Ebay, HP MCE MS Remote, Efergy R2, Conrad-antenn.
EventGhost 0.4.1R1600, Telldus Center 2.1.1, SunTracker, EventPhone, websocketsuite, Win7x64, MySQL.

A message box says that EventGhost needs to be restarted
The whole problem drills down to problems with Tellstick drivers. I introduced this message box when I noticed that it was not possible to re-subscribe to callbacks once you have subscribed, I got an exception. The only chance was then actually to restart EG completely.

With the latest drivers, it seems to be possible to re-subscribe to callbacks (the message box is not popping up anymore) but there could still be some remaining problems in the callback functions (I disabled/enabled TellStickDuo many times and even if successfully subscribed, I managed to end up in a state where sensor events would not come in anymore but device events kept working fine).

Just to verify that you are using the latest, you could try to update to the latest Telldus drivers as well...
driverupdate.zip: http://telld.us/driverupdate
http://www.switchking.se/forum/viewtopi ... =10&t=1011
http://telld.us/files/TelldusService-30swait.zip
Simply open the test.xml again while it's already loaded
I have seen this also with other plugins. Re-opening an already open config is not really restarting EG. I believe the TellstickDuo drivers need more time to finish before re-opening. I do currently not know how I could delay the termination of EG from a plugin.

I will look into the routines for closing and stopping the plugin and see if I can find any improvements as well.

Thanks for your feedback,

Best regards, Walter

Thanks, I updated to the newest driver and 30swait files. Unfortunately I see the same issue as before.

I get the same hanging of EventGhost even if the TellStick Duo is unplugged (but Telldus Center 2.1.1 is installed). As soon as I see the message box about the restart, it isn't possible to close EventGhost.

I've tried to give the drivers some more time as you suggested:
1. Open EventGhost with an empty configuration loaded.
2. Add the Tellstick Duo plugin.
3. Click File - New. Choose not to save.
4. Wait 5 minutes.
5. Add the Tellstick Duo plugin to the new configuration. The messagebox about restart is displayed.
6. Click File - Close. Choose not to save. EventGhost hangs in the notification area. I have to close EventGhost by ending the EventGhost.exe in Task Manager.

This procedure works even if it's performed in 30 seconds:
1. Open EventGhost with an empty configuration loaded.
2. Add the Tellstick Duo plugin.
3. Click File - Close. Choose not to save.
4. Open EventGhost with an empty configuration loaded.
5. Add the Tellstick Duo plugin.
6. Click File - Close. Choose not to save.

I have different EventGhost configurations with the Tellstick Duo plugin so to switch between them I need to remember to create a new empty configuration and close EventGhost before I load the other configuration. But sometimes i forget

Hope this helps.

The picture inside this plugin is that really a DUO stick?

Beta version?

I suggest that you put a new picture of the latest version of the DUO stick inside the plugin files.

I'm also having the same issue as mention above. My PC run for a few hours then the same message appears and I have to kill EG.

I have a quick question if anything can help would would be great.
How do you stop the "good morning" task half way? If I set it up the lights to turn on gradually within 20 minutes time frame (sun set) and then I want to stop it half way or choose a different dim. Right now if you turn off the lights or put in different dim mood, it will continue to turn up until the 20 minutes are over.

Thanks

Are you all with similar problems running with the latest drivers mentioned above?

I run my PC 24/7 and it never goes to sleep (I do not even have support for that as I can see), mabe thats why it works without this problem.

What is happening when you get this message box is that the plugin fails to subscribe to event callbacks from the duo driver.

This should normally not happen once the plugin has subscribed, it must be because you have lost connection with the device somehow for whatever reason.

Are you using some kind of power save mode where usb devices are disabled after a while?

Is this happening after resuming from sleep mode?
How do you stop the "good morning" task half way?
Currently not possible to stop but I can introduce a new action that could stop_all_good morning_tasks if that would be helpful? And one similar for good night tasks...

Please provide some more information how you are running your PC's (in general I think all kind of sleep/hibernate etc modes will cause a problem when resuming)
