Is it possible to filter out certain ID's? It's really not that important to know that my neighbour has 18,3 C in his living room!

I see his Oregon Scientific in my log for EventGhost. Or is that just something I have to live with?

Sure, the id is part of the event string, so if you check the box lower left you will only get the ones you have dragged over to the right and assigned to a macro. You can use the EG Dynamic Webserver to show "your" readings on a webpage.

By the way, 18,3 in the living room? What is he, a polar bear? Brr

Thanks! Actually 18 C isn't too uncommon amongst younger people in Norway. If you knew the price of power here you'd understand...

But it turned out that it wasn't his living room. When I saw in the log that it went down to 12 C last night I understood that it had to be an outdoors thermometer for a weaher station in the area. So that's nice, now I won't have to buy my own for that!

But I still would like to have a webpage with my temperatures, and that leads to a question: I have now set up the EG Websever. Was that the one you meant? I was told in large letters that the Dynamic Webserver was obsolete. I actually tried both, but the Dynamic one didn't show up in the action list for plugins. But since I suck in webdesign, are there any ready made pages to find anywhere, so I can just put in the correct sensor as the trigger?

My recommendation is to search this forum for web sockets. There are several discussions and samples in various threads describing this technology. With web sockets you can have EG to push updates of individual elements on your web page without any need to refresh the complete page.

Yes, I meant the Web Server plugin, sorry.

Here's what I do:

I have one macro for each of my sensors. The just contain a Python Script looking like this (of course slightly different for each sensor; variable names and such)

As you can see, the script extracts the sensor values from the payload and stores them in global variables. This example is for an Oregon sensor, depending on your sensor you may have to adjust the index values in my_data (just count the number of blank spaces in your log string).

I'm no great web designer either, my web page code just looks like this:

Basically just displaying the values in white on a black page and refreshing every minute.

As an aside, the A6 and Q3 are sensors in our Audis. Come wintertime, these values will trigger turning the engine and car heaters on and off.

Mickelin, thanks! That would probably be the easiest way to get this working for now. I'll see if I can get the thing working for now with your script. I've only done LUA before, but it looks pretty logical.

Wasn't too difficult, I only had to strip out a bit that I didn't need.

I now have my sensors on the webserver. But there's one thing I just can't understand: No matter what I name the root file (index.html, index.htm, eventghost.html and so on) I just can't get directly to it. I really want to be able to just write "temperature" in my browser (I have added Temperature as an A host in the server's DNS, so it points to the IP of the VM that runs EventGhost) and get there. For now I have to write temperature/index.html. I know that's outside of the scope of thirs thread, but I'm already a bit off topic...

Can somebody please tell me how I do that, then I won't bother the thread with more off topic stuff! Promise. Almost...

Edit: Never mind that! Suddenly it started working with index.html. Maybe because I restarted EventGhost for another reason? Oh, btw, I wish there was an strike-through option here, that's better than making the wrong text small.

Me again...

One question: Is this plugin not able to receive NEXA codes? I can turn on and off my power plugs from the PC without any problems, but when I try to use the corresponding mini remote that came with the NEXA switches EventGhost is not seeing the signals from the remote. From what the RFXCom home page says it should be able to receive NEXA too. This is the remote and plugs I'm talking about (they are from Sunmatic, but are sold as NEXA):

This seems to be an ARC type (address code wheels)
Did you test with RFXmngr with the ARC protocol enabled?

The RFXtrx433 hardware version needs to be 1.0 to receive the NEXA AC (learning mode) remotes. Hardware version is displayed in the Get Status response in RFXmngr.
Contact RFXCOM support if you want to have your RFXtrx version changed from 0.0 to 1.0.

Thanks! I have no idea what just happened now... I tried the RFX manager, and it worked. And when I started up EventGhost I all of a sudden i see the signal there too. I think there's a ghost in the system in addition to EventGhost! Or maybe a gremlin...

Anyway, I'm back to happy camper mode!

Edit: Didn't last long... As soon as I reactivated the other protocols I lost ARC. I guess that's something I have to ask the support team about.

Edit2: Found it! Disabling Lacrosse (whatever that is) fixed it. I don't think I have any Lacrosse since I don't know what it is, so I think I'm good.

Hi guys!

I'm interested in buying the RFXtrx transceiver with a OWL electric meter and a couple of Oregon Scientific temperature sensors, but before purchasing them, b_weijenberg and Pallantir, if you don't mind, I would like to make to you a couple of questions

Every how many seconds do the OWL meter and the temperature sensors send information to the transceiver? 5-10-15-30-60 seconds? Have you got any stability problem with Eventghost because of this continuous information? Everything works fine?

I have no idea about the OWL, but the temp sensors are coming in every 15 seconds or so. No problems there.

Oregon sensors transmit packets about every minute or 2 minutes depending on the the sensor type.
The OWL transmits every minute the total and instant usage but when the power fluctuates and the instant usage has a change it will transmit also.

Does this plugin support messages received from RFXMeter units?

As you can see in the log dump below I can receive my neighbour's wind meter without problems but I cannot see my RFXmeter. What I believe is that '0a71003c20d00005ff7a50' is my RFXmeter, can you recognize the unit type from the message? I keep getting there "Message is incomplete" and "Decodig of message failed".

In RFXmngr software I have no problems reading the RFXmeter.
