if it is a direct copy of the tree file form the working EG then it should work exactly the same on the mac install. also try copying this file to the mac as well. place it into the same folder %appdata%\eventghost\config.py

if that still does not work then i need you to send me copies of both files the tree and the config from both machines. send them to me in a PM

Sorry not understanding what you mean by "the tree and the config". When the EG utility is running I import the EG-OTSAV.xmi file into it.

So you need that EG-OTSAV.xml file from both the HP and macbook but what else, please clarify?

ok open op Windows Explorer (File Explorer)

in the address bar at the top type in

Code: Select all

%appdata%\eventghost
in there you will see a config.py file.

I need a copy of that file from each of the computers. as well as the xml file from each of the computers.

Oh no, it wasn't a time issue, I was doing data recovery using the HP machine and did not want to interrupt it. Anyway I have the 4 files but in the pm it's not allowing me to upload any of those files showing "Invalid extension" so any other way to get them to you please?

zip em up

the reason why it is like that in a PM is because we already have 10000 file attachments and it is quite the process backing up that folder on the server. so having the user compress into a single file is the best thing to minimize this

ok so here is what I am seeing.

the files you sent me are not correct.

i say this because the file being loaded on the mac is not the xml file you sent me.
and the file loaded on the mac is not using the correct file extension that is supported for the version that is running on the mac.

the HP and the mac are running 2 different version of EG
the HP is using the latest WIP version while the mac is using eg.0.4

so what we need to do is to compare apples to apples instead of apples to oranges.

you need to install the latest WIP on the mac.
have it load the same exact save file as the one that is being loaded on the HP.

lets start there. we need identical identical setups (as far as EG goes) to rule out any possible incompatibles

I am not seeing the downloads listed as WIP.....on the Downloads page. I just installed the 1710 but it does not show the same WIP info as on the HP?
