and i have got another problem. My Plasma TV is sending IR signals and evetghost every sek got entries like "19:49:27 MceRemote.Unknown.xx"
Can i ignor this signals? or what could i do?

Thats a common Problem with plasma tv's. There is no possibility to ignore those events. You need to position the IR receiver somewhere where it can't be effected by the plasma screen.

If your modified service doesn't have any negative effect, I can replace the service files at the first post with the one you created so that others can find it more easy

Here's my modified source file. I've been running the modified service (Win7 64-bit) for several days now and it is fully functional. What I obviously can't say for certain is whether there will be no negative effects on all platforms with all compatible MCE IR Transceivers.

The modified service solves the following problem:

• - you have an MCE IR Transceiver that works with the original service;
  - you installed a device on your computer that has its own built-in IR receiver, since when your MCE IR Transceiver has stopped working with this plugin;
  - when you look in Device Manager under HID Interface Devices you see more than one Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver (which cannot be disabled);
  - your Windows Application event log fills up with error messages from this plugin at one second intervals;
  - you have followed instructions like these http://shop.blackgold.tv/epages/BT3159. ... _installed and they don't solve this problem.

Unless you are experiencing the problem that I described just keep using the latest version of the plugin in the first post. If you do have that problem, please provide details.

Your version hasn't been incorporated into the plug-in yet, has it? I'm considering trying a 2nd MCE IR transceiver again and it looked like what you've done might be useful.

Hello, I have been trying in Vain to get this running on my I3 NUC with Nuvoton IR sensor. I cannot get eventghost to pickup ANY remote from the sensor at all. I have tried both the old and the new driver, Just about every possible registry mod, Everything is running on elevated privileges.

When no drivers are running and default registry settings, Media center commands work through the remote. However nothing I do will get EG to see the remote.

Now I have successfully set this up on the Celeron NUC and it works great.

I'm wondering if some of the changes a couple posts up wouldn't help me out with this. However, not compiled and I don't have the full source so I can't try to compile it myself.

I don't suppose anyone could help me out, Id be extremely grateful.

First I want to say thank you for all the work everyone has done on this plugin, I'm using it on 3 HTPC's problem free, I wish I could say the same for the 4th HTPC

I'm running 2 Lenovo q190's and they are both using the same Hp Reciver (Model: TSGI-IR01 , HP P/N: 5070-2584) one works great but the other one is being a pain in my but,

it randomly looses connection with the "MCEIr Pipe" and then my remote controls nothing


In order to get it working i have to right click "configure" the plugin and uninstall the service, (which some times gives me an error) then re-install the service, some times it works for one button press but other times it works for a full day,

what i have tried: (rebooted on every step ive tried)

• 1.)Services.msc and stop HID and then disable HID
  2.)msconfig Uncheck HID
  3.)and Regedit (when HID still showed up in msconfig after being disabled and after being unchecked i checked regedit and it showed a value of 4 = disabled)
  
  4.)uninstalled plugin services then uninstalled the plugin
  rebooted and then reinstalled the plugin and re installed the services
  5.)tried the plugin at the beginning of this forum
  6.)switched to an older version of EventGhost 0.4.1.r1669 (same one I'm using on the other Lenovo PC)

the last effort gave me about 24hours before the pipe connection was lost

any help would be great, if you need more info let me know

I have a sort of bug report/investigation going on:

CIR header on Intel DH77DF, Nuvoton driver. Win 8.1, newest Eventghost version.
Logitech Harmony 650 remote.

The remote by itself works fine (through the eHome driver), i.e. direction keys, play/pause work in applications.

I want to intercept the key presses in Eventghost, though. If I add the MCE_Vista plugin and install the service, it shows up as running and *seems*
to intercept all IR key presses, i.e. the standard behavior of the MCE remote as handled by Windows stops (cursor keys on directional buttons, etc.).

The problem is that I do not get any events in Eventghost, even though the log says it connected to the pipe. The service is running, restarting it gets the disconnect/reconnect messages in
EG.

My investigation: I traced through the Python code in __init__.py and found that the WaitForMultipleObjects in line 588 never returns, i.e. a PrintNotice placed before

works, none that are placed after it. I believe this means that the readOvlap event that is started above:

I managed to compile the service myself with VS2012 following the instructions from the earlier post (thanks!!), and could verify I get the same behavior in Release mode. No more messages come through after the last line, which leads me to believe that the service enters some sort of deadlock at this point. Restarting it manually through Windows reproduces the exact same log.

This is where I'm stuck and trying to investigate further. My suspicion is that something changed in the IR drivers and handling on Win 8.1, but that's about it.

Please, if anybody with more experience in this has some pointers on where to start looking or more data I can provide, I'd be pretty happy!

Thanks for the reply, the receiver is out of direct sunlight and the tv is an LCD
i updated the plugin and set eventghost to run as admin, when i first started eventghost as admin the log filled up with-


for about 5min, so i restarted eventghost and it connected right off the bat,
I'll do some testing over the weekend and see what we get
