EventGhost

Hi All,

Been using EventGhost and love everything about it, apart from two bugs which are driving me crazy!

I'm using EG v 0.3.7.r851 with Windows Vista x86 SP1 and there are no errors in the log.

The issues I am facing are:

1) Every now and then, after waking from a standby the Microsoft MCE remote plugin no longer works. The lights flash on the IR receiver, but nothing shows in the log. I am using the standard driver, with the HID left enabled. Can't remember if i'm using the replacement mce dll or not? I would just close EG and reopen to resolve this issue, but that brings me onto my second issue...

2) If I attempt to Exit EG then the window either closes, but the process stays running in the background and wont End, or I get a BSOD with a countdown timer running, before the pc restarts.

Can anyone offer any advice on to what I can try to fix this? I'm happy to post logs or more info if needed.

Could you try if disabling the HID plugin and then re-enabling it helps next time when it gets stuck like that (right click on top of the HID plugin -> disable/enable). Knowing if that works might be helpful.

I have noticed a similiar blue screen issue with my XBCDRC plugin (for the original xbox remote). In my case the BSOD occurs if I disconnect the receiver then try to close EG while the plugin is still running. I have not looked in depth what is causing it but they might be related since it is basically a modified HID plugin. I was going to try to look into it but I put it on hold since I'd need to set up a test environment as I don't want crash my main computer all the time while trying to debug it.

Maybe Bitmonster or Bartman could help find out what the problem is?

1) I've tried disabling and enabling the plugin and it doesn't seem to do the trick. I've also set the MceRemote.Power and System.Resume events to automatically disable and re-enable the plugin when the machine goes in and out of standby - this was my own attempt at a workaround, which doesnt work!

2) Is a funny issue which I still haven't got to the bottom of, as it doesn't always BSOD and sometimes will let me exit without any issues. I've just uninstalled my ATI Catalyst drivers and gone with the standard Microsoft Vista driver, just to see if that stops it from happening...
