Windows XP+ MCE remote problems

Post by Tippo88 »

Have been trying to set up Eventghost on my XP MCE PC with a standard MCE remote and ir reciever to work with both Windows Media Center and XBMC using this guide http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=48667&page=2 and xml file.
Am having the following problems:

1. Any version after 0.3.7.r918 will not install- comes up with errors

2. When I install 0.3.7.r918 and import the xml file everything works fine until I reboot then I get two problems:
Firstly when I try to get Live Tv in media center I get a message saying "Set top box error, Unable to change channel on the set top box as remote sensor is not connected" (If i disable eventghost and reboot LiveTV works fine)

3. If I ignore the Livetv problem and launch XBMC it launches "behind" Media Center

Any help much appreciated.

Not making any progress other than to isolate that its the MCE remote plugin rather than Eventghost itself that is causing the problem ( perhaps unsurprisingly) . Any ideas very much appreciated.

I fixed the installation problems with a windows update looks like the later releases of Eventghost needs a net framework update.
Still struggling with the " remote sensor not connected error" Very frustrating as everything working perfectly otherwise.
Seems to be a fairly unique error and virtually no information on the net, any ideas of how to troubleshoot would be very much appreciated.
