Dreambox: Is there a http plugin I can start with?

Hello there,
I've been using EventGhost now since two years and so far, it's the best thing I came across
Now I have a Dreambox DM800 here that I'd like to control, but there is no plugin, AFAIK.
For simple things "curl.exe" and a "Run Command" is sufficient, but I'm after a more general and elegant solution. So now I'm searching for example code for a network plugin. Best would be, if it already used libcurl. I'm new to Python, but it's no different than any other language I guess.
Any hint or help greatly appreciated!
