Learning Blaster codes (Vista/Win7) causes EG Crash

I am migrating my system from WinXP to Win7. Installed the latest version of EventGhost (It was great to see that development was continuing). I replaced the MCE Remote plugin with the one for Vista/Win7.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to get the blaster to work reliably.

When learning IR codes, if I press the remote button too many times, EG will crash. If I carefully learn the three codes I need to learn (Vol up, Vol Down, Mute), when I do use them they only appear at the device I am trying to control unreliably (1 out of every 10 button presses at most).

I also noticed that EG behaves oddly when these remote buttons are pressed. FOr instance, if I press Vol up 3 or 4 times in a row, the first command appears immediately, the next 2 or three button presses only appear after delays of several seconds between each btton press.

Any tips on what I might be doing wrong?

PS I fould the the long thread on the MCE (Vista/Win7). My system is still behaving oddly. WIth the original MCE plugin, everything, but the transmit IR seems to work as expected. I use the transmit IR for 3 macros that control volume. This last go around, with the nwer MCE Vista/Win7 plugin, the remotebutton presses come in but they are coded MCE Unknown (of something to that ilk). WIll look into it further tonight.

Ok. I was finally able to get the MCE plugin to record the codes. Record first code, save file, record second code, crash, startover, etc until I had all 3 codes learned. It seems to be related to multiple remote button presses. Unfortunately the blasted code only seems to work 1 out of every 3-5 times it is executed.

I am experiencing the same problem with a USB-UIRT. It is almost as if the IR learning code causes a buffer overrun.

Same here, I do one code then save asap lol. Can't risk doing a few then having it crash on me haha.

I exchanged a couple of emails with the developer of USB-UIRT. Working under the premise that it was a buffer overrun, we tried increasing the size of the buffer that is allocated by EventGhost from 2048 to 4096. With 20 or 30 attempts to learn, I didn't get a single crash.

Not conclusive by any means but it probably worth a try. At line 643 change the 2048 to 4096
