EventGhost

Hello Everyone,

I am looking for some help here; I want to configure my android device to automatically start and stop the music on my computer as I enter and leave my apartment.

I want this to work like so: As I approach my apartment my phone will detect and attach to my wifi network automatically (as it currently does) and start playing a music player of my choice (pandora, spotify, etc.). And as I leave my apartment the wifi becomes out of range and the phone disconnects from the network and the music player pauses or stops.

From what I have discovered this may be possible using this great program EventGhost, Tasker on my device, and the EventGhost plug-in for Tasker.

I figure this could also work with my GPS and geo-fencing but I am not confident in the accuracy of my device.

If this is possible, can/will anyone help me set this up? If not any other suggestions on how to accomplish this?

There are several Android apps that, based on location (and other possible variables), will take actions... Llama, Tasker, etc

You could use one of these to send a command (web command or native android app) to Eventghost when you enter/exit the desired location.

let us know what you find... getting something working could have many more uses than just Music... enter home + based on time of day = turn on lighting ... etc
