MCE Remote button presses start doubling up

Post by ijourneaux »

Over the past few weeks, my family has started to complain the when they press a button on the MCE remote, they get 2 keypresses instead of one. I have confirmed the behavior but I am at aloss explaining why and how to fix.

This computer is on virtually 24/7. When you first reboot the computer everything works correctly. After a few days, the remote will suddenly start doublign up on the key presses. Restarting EVentghost doesn't fix the problem. The only solution is a reboot.

I am running, EventGhost 1544, Win7 with an USB MCE remote. I will try updating EventGhost to the latest version this weekend.

Any thoughts on what might be happening?

Which MCE plug-in are you using? Can you post your .xml, please?

I'm not sure if it's related, but under your keyboard folder, you have just an 'Up' trigger, rather than a USB_UIRT.Mce.Up for each direction. That means if you press up, down, etc. on the keyboard, you will get dual strokes.

As for the remote duplicating keystrokes, have you tried restarting the USB-UIRT plug-in when it happens to see if that is the culprit?

Keyboard input always works. It is only when using the remote that I sometimes see the double triggers. I will try restarting the USB-UIRT next time it happens to see if that resolves it.

If I find a solueion, I will make sure to post it.

Thanks

I have been having the same problem for months. Sometimes a double-button press goes to my PVR SW, sometimes one goes to PVR and other goes to desktop.
I can press directional arrows and see my desktop icons being selected.

My configuration is:
MCE Remote plugin
Up
MceRemote.Mce.Up
Find Window: NextPVR.exe
Emulate Keystrokes: {Up}
Autorepeat current macro: 0.8

same for Down, Left, Right. I uninstalled and reinstalled EventGhost 1582 and AlternateMceIrService, but no success. HELP!
