Is it possible?
Use case is to be able to toggle some options in a minimized application remotely without having to actually put that application in focus (because it would block out the TV app and my wife would hate me for that )
Given my very limited knowledge of eventGhost (1 day of use ) it seems to me eventstroke only works on the focused app.
Any way to send WM_KEY or something similar to a window that would be selected with something similar than the BringToFront action?
If you use the "Find Window" command first before sending the keystroke emulation, it should send it to the window you just "found" instead of the foreground. I know there are some apps like Opera that hook the keyboard in a weird way, and others like Media Center that don't always act right, but in general this seems to work.
They probably just need to make this more obvious in the interface.
Ahhhh that makes so much sense now that you say it ..
I had the exact same problem for "BringToFront" (which window ???) but I didn't think it would apply for keystrokes.

Ah but it still doesn't work. I'm trying to send {alt+p} to a program that is supposed to do something with that shortcut, but it's not working, even though I tried all the top level windows and there is only one match.
I also tried both the normal way or the alternate way. Weird. Well I'll try to figure out if there is a matching WM_COMMAND I could use - have to run spy++ on another computer to figure this out!
