Hello everybody!

I have developed a plugin which will send status-events from the DLink DIR-655.
This plugin will fire these kindof events:
* Connects (If someone connects wireless to your router)
* Disconnects (If someone disconnects or looses the connection)
* Quality (If the quality of the wifi-signal changes you will be notified according to the sensitivity settings of the plugin)
* Stable quality (If the quality is stable for a specified ammount of time, you will be notified about this)

I am using this to make Eventghost behave differently when I am at home (connected with my mobilephone).
For instance, when I leave home, I will activate my alarm, turn on surveillance-cameras, turn off all lights, aircleaner etc.
And when I come home I will do the opposite.

You may also be able to track your mobilephone depending on the signal quality. But it will not be super-accurate unfortunately

UPDATE:

Version 0.1.1:
* Fix for empty devicelist. Where disconnected event was not fired when the last device disconnected from wifi.

Version 0.1.2:
* Location of salt seems to be different depending on firmware. This should be fixed.

Version 0.1.3:
* Should be able to support firmware version 2.01NA of with hardware B1

New version 0.1.4
* Added graceperiod for disconnects. Mitigating problems when wifi-signal is lost for a short period of time.
* Support for hardware B1 (newer firmwares) should be working now, hopefully!

Oh, and feel free to try this on other Dlink models, they might have the same management setup.
The logon was quite odd on the DIR-655 though, so it might differ...

Is it possible to get additional info from the DIR-655? For example WAN status, syslog etc?

Thanks for testing out the plugin and reporting that bug. The reason is that it doesnt handle a single device. So if the last device disconnects, it doesnt fire the disconnect-event.
I will fix that as soon as I get some free time

Yeah, it is possible to get any kind of status which you can see when you login to the router with your browser. And it's pretty easy to get hold of.
Just make a list of the most wanted information and I'll see what I can do about it.

Is there a specific firmware version needed or a newer model of the device?

Mine is a:

I receive a response

This is what I get as response (salt content is deleted). I do not have any function that has the name "function send_login()", instead the salt is inside a function named "chk_KeyValue(e)":

Hello!

Glad to see you trying out this plugin!
Seems like they have changed some functions in the new firmware (I have an older firmware).
But I assume that the logon is the same, except the name of the function where the salt is.
So the plugin will only search for the salt-var from now on, and this should most likely work with all firmware-versions unless they made changes to the actual logon, which I doubt.

So please try the new 0.1.2-version and see if it works.

I have a pretty old DIR-655... hardware version A3... the latest firmware for that hardware is 1.31EU.
But it seems weird that they stopped using XML for data-collection from the router.
Are you sure that the server-pages (ASP) doesn't query the router for xml-files and populates the page from the data inside the xml?
Maybe you can try running the "programming-tools"-option in Chrome to see which pages are loaded?
If we're lucky they still use .xml files in the background.

It is moving forward. The responses are like below but then the parsing obviously do not match the expected ones. But the response holds the info I assume. It needs another type of decoding.

I receive from the DIR-655 for the is the following:

I hacked your version a bit, maybe not the most beautiful and efficient code, but now I see connects & disconnects coming into the log...
Most changes was needed in the "parse_wifi_assoc_reponse" function.

If you do a file compare, you will easily see the modifications.
