MediaPortal plugin - adding more events?

Hello there,

i am an extremely happy user of EG and MediaPortal for almost four years now. Until recently, I had no problems with emulated keypress-based communication between EG and MP. However, I am planning extensive changes in my system and would need to avoid keypress sendings, if possible.

So far so good, there is an EG plugin to talk to MP via Windows events. However, the number of events that are possible to handle by this plugin is a bit less than what I'd like to. The good side is, MediaPortal actually can handle a lot more types of events. So, my question is, would it be possible to extend the EG plugin with more events? And, of course, how?

Just for the record, a non-exclusive list of what messages I would find great to be able to send to MP, is this:

* Page Up
* Page Down
* Show File Info
* GUI/Fullscreen toggle
* Context menu
* Toggle Subtitles
* Cycle Audio Streams
* Jump to Last Viewed Channel

I have a more exhaustive list - and apparently, MP actually has these functions, they are actually available via keypresses. I just would like to have access to them without emulating keyboard events.

All assistance welcome,
d3cadent

Hi,
not sure I understand...
Did you know the MediaPortal Plugin EventGhostPlus?
In MediaPortal Configuration you can map everything you want (and MePo understand) to a kind of virtual remote.

Btw: With MediaPortal Plugin in EG you don't need to send commands as a keystroke...
