Hello
I'm trying to setup the plugin webserver but I can only get it to work with
localhost:8098
when I try to enter the computers static IP 192.168.0.1:8098 I get:
This page can't be displayed
ÔÇóMake sure the web address
http://192.168.0.1:8098 is correct.
ÔÇóLook for the page with your search engine.
ÔÇóRefresh the page in a few minutes.
I have tried changing port.
As long as I type localhost:8098 it's working fine and it's showing index.html
What am I doing wrong ??

Thank for reply
Sorry for the lack of information.
I'm using windows 7 and firewall is off.
My original goal is to be able to get events from a linux machine running openelec thats why I need to get webserver up and running.

Is the IP of your computer really 192.168.0.1, or is that maybe the address of your router?

I tried to disable ipv6 but same result.
Strange thing is when i ping localhost I get this:
Code: Select all
C:\Users\User1>ping localhost
Pinging Server1 [::1] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from ::1: time<1ms

And when I ping the name of the coputer (server1)
Code: Select all
C:\Users\User1>ping server1
Pinging Server1 [fe80::f45d:686a:4746:e329%10] with 32 bytes of data:

It look to me like it's a ipv6 reply but I get the same reply even if I disable ipv6 on the NIC.
Any ides ?

I disabled the ipv6 completely using this guide
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929852
Now it looks better when i ping but still the same problem.
when i ping localhost I get reply from 127.0.0.1 as normal :
Code: Select all
C:\Users\User1>ping localhost
Pinging Server1 [127.0.0.1] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Ping statistics for 127.0.0.1:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms
But trying 127.0.0.1:8098 in a webbrowser dont work.
Using localhost:8098 works as normal
I don't get it, very curios to hear the explanation for this one.

First I will Thank krambriw and piert for trying to help out.
I downloaded this old version of webserver and replaced it in C:\Program Files (x86)\EventGhost\plugins\Webserver\__init__.py
Now it's working again. =)

Glad you got it solved. Keep an eye on the announced webserver update by Pako on this forum. According to Pako, it will have some exciting new features.
