hi, i have been using eventghost for a long time now, but i havent ever looked on these forums before, i keep mostly to the xbmc forums and i have never really had an issue before now.

i bought an ati remote wonder a month ago and i have not been able to to get it working under windows 7, ideally i would like to use it with eventghost and use it instead of my IR remote to control xbmc, i have tried almost everything but i cannot get any commands to appear in EG, i have tried almost everything i could find by googling, and i have got nowhere.

replacing the msvcrt.dll file totally messed up my machine, i had to restore the file to get windows to boot up.

i have also tried to get it running on my raspberry pi and had no luck whatsoever (im not linux naive, but the pi just enrages me), my idea was to use LIRC on the pi and then send the commands over the network to my EG client on windows with the LIRC client plugin, but this turned out to be a nightmare to get working as not many of the pi distros like the ati remote.

id appreciate any help with this remote, i cant even confirm if the plugin is working as it should be as i dont have a working x10 remote to start with, im pulling out my hair with it at the moment, and reading the forums i linked just makes it even more frustrating as others seem to have it working.

Not sure if you're still working on this, but I have what is pretty much the same remote as the ATI Remote Wonder. Mine was made by Niveus, there's another identical remote that was made by NVidia that goes by 'nvremote'. Not sure about the ATI, but the other two are branded as models UR-88A.

Anyways, I have both the CM19A and CM21A RF-to-USB receivers. The most relevant thing here is that I've only been able to get the CM21A to work with Eventghost and the remote. From what I've read, the CM21A is made specifically for these UR-88A/x10 type RF remotes. On the other hand my X10 home automation stuff (e.g. Powerline and lighting control) has to use the CM19A.

However, the Firecracker driver made for the CM19A seems to work just fine for the CM21A in my case. In other words, once I installed the CM19A firecracker drivers, I could get the CM21A to register the commands being sent from my Niveus remote.

Again not sure how much this will help with your ATI remote, but thought I'd throw it out there.
