Powerlinc 2414

Hello all,

Is there a way to control a smarthome usb powerlinc 2414?...I could not find a plugin...or maybe some type of workaround?

I don't think there is directly.
There is the Insteon SmartLinc Plugin that decodes the same Serial commands the 2414 should be using (I haven't tried this) but the plugin is using TCP as IO instead of a serial interface. So either the plugin can be updated to include control of a serial interface or branched to replace the TCP connection with a serial com port connection.

Another options is to load a virtual TCP to COM port adapter on your PC. I believe there are little programs that can do this. The SmartLinc Plugin would connect to the port of the virtual adapter, then the virtual adapter would connect to the COM port of the USB Powerlinc. Should work in theory but might be harder than its worth to make it work. I looked into this a while back and just ended up getting a SmartLinc (since then SmartLinc has been replaced with a Insteon Hub).
