EventGhost

I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be possible to create a plugin for Leapcast, the Chromecast emulator. I have recently installed it on my HTPC and although it works well, it will not play on top of WMC. I would love to detect when a client connects so that media can be turned off and WMC can be minimized. Anyone know if this is possible?

Yes, and in fact I purchased a $10 license. The problem is, aside from Youtube, nothing else works well if at all and the dev is completely absent.

I don't use Media Center Cast, but there has been some activity in developing it lately. The original dev dropped off the face of the planet, but a new guy has taken over. Perhaps you downloaded the wrong one? Search the TGB forum in the area I linked, and you'll find discussion where a new dev has taken over.

Really? I don't see any information about a new dev working on this project in the forum. Know where I could read up on this? I love the idea behind the project, but it's currently at a dead end.

Oh, sorry, I was thinking of the Amazon Prime add-in. Another dev took over that one.

Media Center Cast is not dead, according to the dev in the post linked below from the 4th of this month:

Trust me, it is dead. The last time it was updated was over 5 months ago and the dev has been making promises every bit as long. I'm just kind of frustrated because I spent $10 on the app that barely functions. I would love to just buy a real Chromecast, but with an HTPC, it's redundant and I would like to just bake the functionality into my current setup.

To be honest, I gave up on all the "baked in" Internet features in Media Center. At first, I bought a Chromecast. It was cool at first, but the lack of ability to control it with an IR remote soon became a problem for me. It's just not convenient to pick up the phone, unlock it, etc, etc, etc. Also, I like the ability to feel the physical buttons on a remote so I can operate it without looking, and I can't do that on a phone. So... I sold the Chromecast and bought a Roku 3. It's a great device. Everything just works. No fiddling with software. It's really not that difficult to switch inputs and use the Roku... and you can automate that with a programmable remote and/or EventGhost.
