Apologies, if I have posted this in the wrong place.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit on an Intel NUC DN2820FYKH running XBMC which is all connected to ONKYO HT R358 receiver.

I have HP MCE remote which works well with XBMC. However, I would like to use my Onkyo remote to nagivate XBMC.

There has been some success in this using mce win 7 plugin 1.1.1.

The first issue was trying to get the keypresses to register on EG. This did not happen initially - I used one of the input "game" and assigned an old VCR code to it, but was not working. Only the volume buttons were only showing up on EG but these buttons do not need to be assigned as they are master volume controls for the receiver. However, I discovered that when the remote is in 'Receiver' mode, all the buttons were registering on EG - although if i pressed the same key the value returned would not identical to the previous one. After some faffing around, I took my HP MCE remote out of the picture as I think it was interfering with the signal. This produced better consistent results (although I did find that even having keyboard connected/disconnected was also interfering)

I have managed to map the keys on the Onkyo Remote to control using XBMC 2 plugin. My questions are

1) is there a reason why I can't assign the keymaps to the 'game' input instead of 'receiver' mode. I don't think this is a huge problem.

2) When I press the keys on the Onkyo remote, they are quite sensitive, so I have to do a quick tap of the keys otherwise, it has scrolled too far. Is there a way I can adjust this? I know you can adjust the parameters within the non-windows MCE plug in but is it also possible to do something similar with this plugin?

3) THE HP MCE remote that I use, can turn on the on PC from a complete shutdown state. Is it possible to assign this function to a key on the onkyo remote. i understand this may not be possible with EG as it wont be running but is there any other way to do this? This remote doesn't have a learning function.

I don't know what this "game" mode is, but you should always keep in mind, that this receiver is designed to receive commands from an MCE remote only, so there can be some IR frequencies the receiver does not recognize(properly).

No, I think that's a feature from the driver.

You should maybe consider using an universal Remote and learn on both, the onkyo remote commands as well as the MCE ones.
