Part I : Introduction

This topic is about the plugins for the remote controls.
It does not describe plugins for anything else, unless it is necessary.

The topic is structured as follows:

Part II : Explanation

The details for each remote control plugin follows a consistent format.


plugin code: the reference code for this plugin

• see Remote Controls Part III
  this is the preferred way to refer to this plugin

name: the name of the remote control plugin

• this corresponds with the name in the EventGhost Add Plugin... dialog

plugins for smartphones and tablets include a screenshot picture of the plugin user interface

• some of these plugins can be customized, so it may not necessarily appear like this

remotes: which remotes work with this plugin

included: is it included with the EventGhost installation program

• if the plugin is not included, then it must be downloaded and installed manually

forum: link to the EventGhost forum topic for this remote control plugin

• some of the plugins do not have a dedicated forum topic

requirements: what else is needed for this plugin

• many of the remotes require WinUSB, which is discussed in Part V
  some of the other requirements are usually included with the remote control installation software
  some of the other requirements must be downloaded and installed separately

Part IV : Installing a remote control

Part V : WinUSB

Some of the USB remote control plugins for EventGhost v0.4.x and later require WinUSB.
If WinUSB is needed, EventGhost will check to see if it has already been installed.

EventGhost can automatically download WinUSB if the computer is connected to the Internet.
One advantage of this method is that it will only download the required version: 32bit or 64bit.
Another advantage is that the downloaded files are automatically installed in the correct folder.
The disadvantage of this method is that the computer must be connected to the Internet.

WinUSB can also be downloaded from the EventGhost website and installed manually on each computer.
One advantage of this method is that the computer does not have to be connected to the Internet.
Another advantage is that you get the 32bit and the 64bit versions at the same time.
The disadvantage is that you have to copy the files to the correct folders manually.

It is a good idea to download WinUSB and keep a copy of it with your copies of the EventGhost installation programs.
The 32bit and the 64bit versions are approximately 5MB each, so the combined version is about 10MB.

To check if the WinUSB drivers have been installed on a computer, perform Procedure 02.

If your computer is connected to the Internet, it is simpler to allow EventGhost to install WinUSB automatically.
If you are installing WinUSB on a computer that does not have an Internet connection, then you must install WinUSB manually.

To install WinUSB manually, perform Procedure 03.
