I ended up needing to add the Keyboard pluggin. It still isn't very clean but it now does log the events from the remote. If I hit a button it will say:

Keyboard.LCtrl
Keyboard.LCtrl+M
Keyboard.M

I don't know why it doesn't just say Keyboard.LCtrl+M since that is what the button press apparently ...

MCE remote not logging events

I have an MCE remote that I was using with event ghost. I accidentally deleted the file and application and am trying to create a new one. The issue I'm having is that now when I press buttons on the remote it doesn't show up as an event in the log so I can't assign the buttons to actions.

I apologize if this has been addressed but I'm new to EG and couldn't find it in my searching.

I am trying to remap buttons on my MCE clone remote to other keyboard presses to be used in XBMC. When I push the activity buttons, EG tells me that it is pressing 3 keyboard commands:
