Re: More consistant error handling

I was wondering if the behaviour of EG with the USBUIRT has been fixed wrt the red text, I also very often get Bartman's observations of red text errors when the USB-UIRT is disconnected. I need to figue out WHY it's disconnecting, but it'd be nice if EG recognized when it came back.

Re: USBUIRT failing

Might try shutting down skype and if it has any it's services and then try and see what happens.

Hmm, thanks Collin. I did find this http://support.skype.com/index.php?_a=knowledgebase&_j=questiondetails&_i=528 concerning ports 80/443, so it seems you may be onto something here.

Re: USBUIRT failing

Du you have another webserver installed or maybe a crashed instance of EG still running..
Nope.

Try >netstat -a -b in a command prompt and look for apps listening on port 80.
As an alternative you can change the webserver port.

Re: USBUIRT failing

Your Webserver port is blocked by another application.

Thanks for looking at this, I am not sure what to do next however. I tried turning the Windows VISTA firewall off completely (temporarily), but it does not help. Could it be a router setting? I thought port 80 was generally open?

I had this ...

This is an odd error.

Please select the plugin in the tree, copy it and paste the result here.
Here it is, happened again!

Re: Error starting USBUIRT Plugin?

I really wish I could repeat this, but the darn problem seems to have cleared up after a reboot. I'll try and post if it happens again.

Error starting USBUIRT Plugin?

I have a problem with the USBUIRT Plugin, but I am not sure where to find logs or troubleshoot this. I can't seem to find a plugin topic for this on the plugin forum, sorry.

Re: Details of events ghost's "http interface" to intepret Media

Thank you, I have it working beautifully now!

btw I see the GPVR plugin (I don't use it though) is still in the latest beta. Presumably these are just pre-defined Keyboard commands associated with strokes e.g. {Ctrl=W} etc so you don't have to set these? If so it should still work OK.

OK Yippee, I have it running with MyEvent. If I change the name to mvpmcEvent, it doesn't work. MUST it be MyEvent?

Re: Details of events ghost's "http interface" to intepret Media

Create an empty page for the webserver (lets say emptypage.html) and call it this way:
http://localhost/emptypage.html?MyEvent

"MyEvent" is the event you get.

Sorry I'm a bit new to this, when you say "call it this way" ... what do you mean?

I created the page, but ummm.. what do I do now? Is ...

Oh, that's a shame. Never mind, I'm sure I can do this using "send keystrokes.
