Re: Apple remote

Both device manager and the HID plugin in EventGhost. In the screenshot below the highlighted devices all correspond to one physical HID device, my wireless keyboard. Key presses from the physical device register differently for each of the three devices displayed in EventGhost and Device Manager ...

Re: Harmony, BeyondTV and USB-UIRT

Your screenshot looks ok to me, I am not sure why you would always be getting the left key press. Based on your log on the left of your screenshot though, it looks to me like your macros are correctly being fired. For debuging though, that log is your friend. Try to consistently recreate the issue ...

Re: Apple remote

I have an HID keyboard that registers as several HID devices. On one device some buttons send the same code, while on the other device they are distinct, so to get Event Ghost to uniquely recognize all the HID buttons on the keyboard, I needed to check all three devices. Maybe the Apple Remote does ...

Re: Harmony, BeyondTV and USB-UIRT

The alternating codes is normal and a lot of infrared remotes behave that way. You will just need to assign both signals to the corresponding action for that button. If you want to get super fancy you can remap those two events to a single new event, but I would recommend you focus on getting the ...

Re: Harmony, BeyondTV and USB-UIRT

Well you have events registering in EventGhost, now you need to assign actions to them. I don't personally use BeyondTV, but I do use MediaPortal, which is similar, and for me the easiest way to set it up was to have EventGhost emulate the keyboard. For example when you press the play button on your ...

Re: Harmony, BeyondTV and USB-UIRT

You should be using the USB-UIRT plugin. Also, don't bother with the software for the the Firefly Mini, it is just a HID device anyway and doesn't work that well in my opinion. Have your Harmony mimic something more complex (I have mine mimicing a regular Windows Media Center Edition remote). Then ...

If he uses source control he could always just dump a list of check in comments between versions.

Re: xPL or xAP integration

For what it's worth this guy wrote a CM11A emulator when creating an xPL gateway for it. Basically he created it so he could continue development on his laptop when he was away from home and didn't have access to the actual hardware. Food for thought...

Re: xPL or xAP integration

I was reading up on xPL the other day and I agree this would be a good idea for integration. The API is pretty large though, deals with a lot of different types of devices, may be a better idea to start with a specific device subset first and slowly expand it over time. I am thinking about picking ...

Re: Snapstream Firefly and BTV (Beyond TV)

I dunno about a Beyond TV plugin, but if that doesn't happen, you could certainly just use keyboard emulation actions to control Beyond TV. Thats how I control MediaPortal. You could probably set something up in 15-20 minutes based on the online documentation: http://www.snapstream.com/Support/Help ...
