Couldn't be bothered... sat there yesterday trying to get stuff to work, finally figured it worked fine with Win7x64, so just installed Win7x64, antivirus, KODI v15 and EventGhost and works fine.
I've never really used Ubuntu before, Kodibuntu for some reason was fine on this PC but on the HTPC the ...

EventGhost on OpenELEC or Kodibuntu
I've been using EventGhost for a few years running XBMC/KODI off WinXP/Win7 using an HP iR receiver.
I'm building a new computer, which means this one can finally be a devoted HTPC. I also have a devoted HTPC in the living room that streams off this one, also using EventGhost and an HP iR receiver ...

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
it's amazing how much time can be spent on such a small simple thing... also makes you wonder why they change stuff like that in the first place.
Ah well... thanks for the info... I reposted it to the XBMC thread since a couple of other people were asking the same thing.

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
Awesome!!!
Totally works again... most of the menu I don't use, however, I use it a lot for updating folders/libraries.
Hopefully it's the only issue I'll come across with this update... had a few last time and basically just re-scraped the entire db, so far this time it seems to be the 1 button ...

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
Well, when I hit GUIDE on my remote while I had a file or menu item highlighted in XBMC, it brought up the menu (same as right clicking the item with the mouse)... basically depending what was clicked, you get the menu for queue item, play, add to favourites, etc...
On the XBMC forum they said that ...

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
Looking in my remote.xml file, it seems what you attached pretty much matches what I have...
<guide>XBMC.ActivateWindowAndFocus(MyPVR, 31,0, 10,0)</guide>
and
<guide>XBMC.ActivateWindow(PVROSDGuide)</guide>
and
<guide>XBMC.ActivateWindow(PVROSDGuide)</guide>
etc...

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
I'm having a small issue with XBMC2 on the latest Frodo v12... the GUIDE button seems to now link to some sort of PVR function.
Is there a way to edit it such that Guide still performs the same function?

GUIDE button issue with XBMC Frodo
Seems now with the newer version of XBMC v12, the Guide button now activates the PVR function.
Someone on the message boards there said that for Guide it's now CTRL+G on the keyboard but, not sure how to change EventGhost to reflect the change. I installed the latest build last night, so far the ...

Re: MCE_Vista: MceIr pipe is not available
Weird huh?
I would never have thought it, but makes sense given that it emits all manner of lights and such.
But like I said, I'm not a programmer or anything but, I think EG getting flooded wit SO many unknown signals at once caused it to just crash.
Hopefully others with the same problem find ...

Re: MCE_Vista: MceIr pipe is not available
I have a 40" Sony Bravia LCD HDTV system.
Like I said the light would go nuts some days on the HP receiver I have, and I would walk around, close the curtains, hid all the remotes, phone, etc trying to see what may be causing it, if another remote, or maybe some sorta feedback through the USB port ...

Re: MCE_Vista: MceIr pipe is not available
Holy crap... a reply!
System restart fixes it.
I think I figured it out... the IR receiver would sometimes blink a lot, and the EG log would show a lot of random unknown entries etc... seems that some LCD/LED screens backlight mimic IR almost, found it in a post somewhere, and sure enough, I took ...

Re: MCE_Vista: MceIr pipe is not available
Nothing? I'm sure other people get this error...
Went 3 weeks without instance, then 3x last night within half an hour and gave up... worked fine all day today, then got the error, reboot, 2min after reboot error came up again, and now 10min later again.
Something has to be triggering it, makes ...

MCE_Vista: MceIr pipe is not available
I've seen a few posts (many posts) about this error but never seem to find a solution apart from rebooting.

Will continue to try to connect to MceIr

I also noticed at times, even if the remote isn't facing the receiver, that sometime the light flickers and the log shows a long list of just random events... I've checked around, no remotes or anything else that would be sending ...
