I am using your plugin, and it works great, thanks for that.

Anyway I would like to suggest 2 small improvements :
- The computer to which my CM11A is connected is plugged on an UPS.
- When the main power cuts, the computer still runs thanks to the ups.

OK, try the new version of the plugin from the message at the top of this thread.
It should now generate proper events, even when the incoming messages are split. Let me know how it works, I've had limited means of testing.

I wrote a couple of plugins a few months ago, all using the serial port. They were written against the 0.3.6.1487 version.
I've recently upgraded to the latest version of EG (0.3.7.1194) and ran into some problems with my plugins.

I've tracked the issue down to one change in the SerialThread.py ...

Ok, a couple of things.

Not all events are unknown. The log shows that the "A On" event was recognized properly. What device are you using to fire the "A1 On"? Because it doesn't look like it fires an "A1 On", it almost seems like it fires an address first, and then a separate On command. The '66 ...

What version of Eventghost and Windows are you on?

One thing to try: in the __init__.py script for this plugin, search for "CM11A Unknown event" and a couple of lines above you will see a commented print statement. Uncomment it so that it shows the content of the buffer received from your CM12 ...

The first thing I would check if your projector does not respond to any commands is the serial cable itself.

Here is a link to an official Sony document for the serial protocol, which I used when developing the plugin; it has a section on the serial cable needed by the projector.

Out of the box Windows Server has all sorts of restrictions on websites and downloads through IE, maybe that was the issue.

I have now tried the latest beta version (v0.3.6.1476) and have different results.
It still failed but I was able to fix it.

The problems you are having are most probably due to the fact that you are not using the latest release. I would recommend 0.3.6.1487, that's the one I am running at it's been pretty stable. What version of Eventghost and what OS are you on?

The plugin can control any Sony VPL front projector with a serial interface. The protocol was implemented using Sony specifications for VPL-VW40/60 and was tested on a VPL-HW10.

Only the commands that I found useful are implemented (discrete power, inputs, picture modes, lamp hours, etc.), more can ...

The CM11A X10 interface is natively supported via serial interface, no other software is needed. Most basic X10 commands are implemented. Events get generated for any command the CM11A receives from the powerline. Macro functionality is not implemented as I do not use it and do not think that it ...

It's been pretty solid for me, although clearly it would be nice to hear how/if it worked for others too.
