Generic HID won't log codes?

Post by funkyant »

Hi there.

I've only just found EventGhost, but it seems to be exactly the piece of software that's been missing in my HTPC setup.

I've installed v0.3.7.r1182 and loaded the Generic HID plugin (my remote comes up as a HID-compliant consumer control device in the XP device manager), but cannot seem to get the software to recognise any input. This is an extract from the log:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "C:\Program Files\EventGhost\eg\Classes\MainFrame\__init__.py", line 344, in FuncWrapper
func()
File "C:\Program Files\EventGhost\eg\Classes\MainFrame\__init__.py", line 868, in OnCmdConfigure
eg.UndoHandler.Configure().Try(self.document)
File "C:\Program Files\EventGhost\eg\Classes\UndoHandler\Configure.py", line 41, in Try
eg.Tasklet(self.Do)(item).run()
TaskletExit

I've read in the forums about MCE remotes, and also needing administrator privileges, but I have a feeling that I'm missing something simple, and not even getting that far.

My remote works perfectly on it's own, even with EG running in the background.

I wish to control various PC functions in XP SP3 (not MCE).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Known bug, see here.

You can try an earlier version of EG or wait for the fix.
