Hi,
ilan5555 wrote:hi all,
I've also downloaded the iiremote.dll from this forum.
I don't remember a irremote.dll, which is located here in this forum. Which irremote.dll do you mean?
ilan5555 wrote: Don't know why, each time I add the Hauppauge plugin I receive this error message:
"Couldn't start the Hauppauge remote control"
Could you look for the version of the "irremote.dll"?

The Version must be at least 2.45.

This version should work.

Actual I haven't any idea.

It seams to be, that the dll is located at the correct place, because the dll can be loaded by the plugin. But when the plugin tries to connect the remote control via the dll it fails.

Does the original hauppauge software (ir.exe) works in your environment?

Dear Stefan,
I've tried to use it and it failed...
So, I reinstalled vista and the Hauppauge drivers.

Unfortunately it didn't work, also.

Do you know where can I get the updated drivers?
Maybe this will help....

Thank you!

I think the updated drivers should be in the package of the software. You can find the software on following page:
http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/s ... vr150.html

But I suspect that something is wrong with the hardware. Could you check the TV card using another PC?

Best regards
Stefan

Dear Stefan,

The truth is that I'm tired from this remote control.
I've always had problems with it.

I decided to work with the one which comes with my SilverStone case.
The remote control is called IMON PAD.

Do you know how to add it to EventGhost?

Thanks!

I'm not shure but I think it's actual not supported by EG in case of the missing documentation.

Use EG to send Hauppauge HDPVR power off/on via MCE blasters

Use EG to send Hauppauge HDPVR power off/on via MCE blasters

Hi Guys,

long time lurker, noob poster!

I am looking into automating a power cycle of a hauppauge HD PVR,

The current driver for the HDPVR is a little flaky unfortunately, and needs a power cycle from time to time to sort itself out.

I am assuming this can be done manually using the hauppage hd pvr remote, so I am thinking this could be scripted / automated via event ghost?

What I wan to do is the following:

- teach EG the power on / off button command
- create a macro to send the command, possibly map it to a key press?
- once triggered the MCE blaster will send the command out the MCE blaster & send to HDPVR

I am just not sure if EG can be programmed to send IR blasts out via MCE IR buds?

and anyone confirm this?

Cheers!

Hi all,

I have this device:

http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_usb2.html

I have no idea about how this EG or the Hauppauge plugin work, but i'm willing to give it a shot, hopefully this weekend. This device actually works fine for me, and I've manually updated th irremote.ini file and been able to get it working in XP Media Center and tried it on Windows 7 RC.

I installed the following driver: ir32_257_26021.exe
from: http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/support_usb2.html

However, there are two big features that it's missing at the moment:

- SMS Style Triple Tap Keyboard, so that I can search for words within MC...it just types numbers for me.
- Wake up from Standby with the Remote, as it's not recognise by XP MCE 2005 as a USB device, I guess it's due to the driver, and so it doesn't provide that option. During Standby it powers down, so I can wake up using my USB mouse or keyboard, but not the remote :(

If I could get these two things working, then I'd be a very happy man. I finally found this forum of hopefully others that are trying to make this Remote work as well, so I'm really hoping someone here can help.

Any advise, would be appreciated...I thought it was relevant to this thread?

cheers,
gabs

You can use the multitab plugin.

You are right, it's not possible.

Thanks, I actually just noticed the Multitap Plugin just before I read your reply. :D

Is that your experience, that there is no way you know that S3 Standby will work with this device, or are you definite that it's impossible? :?

I would have thought, that if I have an IR receiver device that has USB, that it would be possible somehow??? I guess the only way is to rewrite the driver for it though, is that why you say it's not possible, as I'd have to rewrite the driver? So using EG will not provide this functionality then?

Sorry, your answer has produced more questions, I guess they are all related though. I just find it hard to believe that people build their own USB IR devices, but that I can't reuse this one. :?:

cheers,
gabs

Is there a way to use my Hauppauge WinTV Theater (Old analog PCI) IR receiver, on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit?
I haven't found any drivers and I only want to use the IR receiver with EventGhost.

Hi Prinz
I┬┤ve installed EventGhost to Controll XBMC and DVBviewer with one remote.
I┬┤ve a Hauppauge WinTV Nova HD-S2 Sat-Card with a hauppauge Remote.
I┬┤ve installed the newest Drivers and irremote.dll.
But i┬┤ve still the message from Event Ghost
Couldn't find irremote.dll! Reinstalling the Hauppauge WinTV Infrared Remote package can solve the problem.
Fehler beim Start des Plugins: Hauppauge IR
Gerät nicht gefunden!

Can tell me the folder where EventGhost searchs for the irremote.dll ?
