I'm working on an interface for my Home Automation (backed by Homeseer) so adding your plug-in and some of the EG web pages will make it complete.

Are you planning on having buttons to trigger "Scenes" or having only specific/individual controls?

_set volume to 30
_Change to tuner
in web page...

updated Onkyo875 plugin

My interface files for the 875

Made a few changes
Disabled Iphone copy/paste function so that does't pop up if you rest your finger on the screen.

power indicator is red ring to turn off and yellow ring to turn on. (so it's a visual indicator of the zone's power state)

A volume led indicator/touch to jump to volume is above center LED screen now and wider.

Source selection is taller and easier get a fat finger on the right source.

LED Screen doesn't show frequency if your not on AM or FM anymore

LED Screen shows sleep timer for 15 seconds every time the sleep time changes (so, as the onkyo's sleep timer counts down the LED display on the remote will show the time remaining) before reverting back to whatever was on the display previously

LED Screen shows the listening mode for 5 seconds when you change listening modes.
The remote polls eventghost every ten seconds (you can set this in index.html under the startRefreshTimerFunction(); If you do not interact with the remote for 60 seconds it will stop polling the event ghost server to conserve battery life. You can change this in index.html under the startStopTimer() function. If you interact with the remote it will restart the polling timer for 60 seconds.

The second screen of the Onkyo remote is, again, a placeholder that isn't implemented. So, you will see oddity like the sleep timer or listening mode readout not slide with the remote page as you would expect.

I think I figured out the issue... it is ALMOST working as designed - but not quite, at least for me.

Here's the issue...

1) The 'Zone bar' never shows at the bottom when using the iPod Touch 2G (fw latest)
2) HomeMote defaults to Zone1 (as it should)
3) Zone1 on the HomeMote does not work with the 805, or there is a code bug?
... when you add this all together nothing will work for me.

SO

When using the PC Safari, I switched to Zone2... and BINGO - it works!

So this brings up a issues that makes it unusable for me...

a) Zone1 is not working properly - e.g. at all
b) The 'Zone bar' does not show at all on the iPod Touch 2G

Have you udated your ipod touch OS with itunes? When in zone 1 do you see the events fire in EventGhost?

I'm really tied up with this home automation project for work on one of the houses we are the electrical contractor for. When I get a chance I will make and tst a standalone for the Onkyo receiver. I have not had time to test/debug any of the onkyo slices of my remote software that I have uploaded.

I would experiment with the z-index property of the "taskbar" division. Does the bar itself show with no butons or nothing at all shows? What is the resolution of the ipod 2g?

Yes... it stays in sync, but I'm troubleshooting in PC Safari since the Zone bar never shows on the iPod.

When in zone 1 do you see the events fire in EventGhost?

Yes.

Example: Power Button
Zone1 - never changes from Red, always sends same 'Power Standby' command in EG
Zone2 - shows Yellow/Red button change when appropriate

When the onkyo screen is launched it should fire an event (I think ONKYO-REMOTE1 or something along those lines) that should be present in most of the Onkyo Plugins "get" methods.

All of those variables should be initialized when you launch the onkyo remote from the home screen. Your eventghost events probably aren't right. Try manually executing all the "get" methods in the onkyo plugin then recheck variables.HTML

I ran into a problem I'm hoping you can help. I'm using a USB->serial adapter by Prolific. It WAS working fine for months on the same system/OS/etc. I also have another device connected to the same Prolific adapter, used by another app, and it works perfectly (2-way comms).

What's working...
The plugin will send serial from EG to the receive no problem. Receiver gets the command and executes it.

What's not working...

This is a simple, manual test to turn off, then on, the receiver using the front button:

First try:
Here's what EG shows in the log -
PWR00
LMD00
PWR01
LMD40

Then I deleted the PYC and restarted EG.

Now I get this....

Looks like the P was clipped off the power on command. (Should be PWR01). Check the plugin file in the line 70-80 range and check the power on command.

Input board went out on my Onkyo 875 and had to send it in for service. I sure do miss it!

OK good news. I updated the serial driver and it is working again. Not sure why it stopped working before.

I have a new question...

Log shows: OnkyoSerial.MasterPower 'Off' ... as it should.

I drag the Event from the Log to the Macro and in the Macro it then shows: OnkyoSerial.MasterPower ... without 'Off' on the end (same happens for 'On')

It seems that is is not keeping the command at the end of the Event when dragged to the Macro?

I edited the Event in the Macro to make it show: OnkyoSerial.MasterPower 'Off' ... but it is not triggering the macro?

Any ideas?

The 'On' and 'Off' seems to be in the payload and then you would need to extract that with a python script or similar. Just dragging the event will not be enough. Or to modify the plugin to send the On/Off as part of the event string...

I use the broadcaster plugin to send info back and forth between CommandFusion iViewer on my iPhone and EventGhost.

If the status (on, off, sound field, ect) were not seperated out as a payload I would have had to have an lot more return value commands and feedback commands in eventghost.

So, for example, I have a Broadcast Feedback called Stereo Z1 Power
OnkyoSerial.MasterPower triggers this event
The command initiated by this is
Broadcaster: Broadcast: Stereo.Z1.Power and the payload is {eg.event.payload}

I'm not doing anything complex, I'm just using it within EG - wanting to trigger Macros based on On or Off events.

I guess I was expecting that either EG or the Onkyo plugin would capture the payload... the old Onkyo plugin worked for me without using anything special.

So a few questions/thoughts...

What is different between the old Onkyo plugin and the 875 plugin?
Can the ability to handle this be put into the plugin? (e.g. I must manually add the On or Off in the Event line)
