eventphone and iphone 3g

does event phone works over 3g connection? I have setup eventphone with a wifi connection but once my wifi connection is off, i get the connection error on eventphone. If their is a way to connect eventphone over the 3g network please give me instructions on how to

Your 3G traffic will go through the internet, and you have to treat is as such. Depending on your setup you might need to allow it to pass through your firewall or if you have a router/NAT then you have to make a port forward rule for it as well. Obviously using any LAN address will not work over the internet.

I don't have an iPhone, or have never tried the eventphone software, this is just basic computer networks 101.

Thanks but that didnot work . I check with the good people at melloware and they gave me this step by step to enable eventphone without wifi. it worked like a charm now I'm controling everything in my home with or without wifi. Here is the link if anyone else needed the help.

There is also a setting in the EventPhone settings called "Allow WWAN" which enables use over 3G/Edge. It is off by default.

Then we have this guide on how to do port forwarding... just replace X10 Commander and port 6003 for EventPhone and port 1025.
